To celebrate National Friendship month, we are going to dedicate our each week to highlight a friendship💚 This week we will hear a letter senior beks!! wrote for her best friend Marleigh Stannard ✨
“Dear Marleigh,
It’s pretty rare to meet your person freshman year, but somehow I was lucky enough to meet mine on move-in day (shoutout Carolinekhalaf). We spent basically every second together that year, got lucky enough to do KD together, and somehow turned scheduling every meal together into a tradition.
You are one of the very few people I can sit in a room with for hours and do absolutely nothing with, and somehow never get bored. You’ve made me a better person just by being in my life, and I hope you know how much your friendship has meant to me over the years.
I truly didn’t know how I was going to spend a moment without you when you went to Australia and I stayed at Wake, but you never once made me feel far away. We talked every single day, and even with everything you had going on, you always made me feel important and reminded me that distance could never change us.
I would be lucky to be even a sliver of the person you are. Everyone deserves to have a Marleigh in their life and I’m so thankful freshman-year me found you. I wouldn’t want to do college, or life, without you. Here’s to all the meals, all the memories, and a lifetime of having you by my side.
