Meet Stephanie, our Assistant Chaplain for Jewish Life and Director of Rosenblatt Family Hillel!

Stephanie has been working in Jewish Education and Engagement for over 30 years. She loves working with the Jewish Community on campus and offering learning opportunities for Jews and non-Jews alike, including a weekly Judaism Lunch and Learn that is open to staff, faculty, students, community members, alumni and parents. In addition to her strong Jewish programming experience, Stephanie has always been involved in interfaith dialogues and learning.

She loves learning about other faiths and finding the many commonalities among us. Stephanie firmly believes that we are more alike than different. She also believes in the dignity and worth of each individual. Stephanie is passionate about making positive changes in the world and works diligently towards this. She is an active member at Temple Emanuel in Winston-Salem

Over the last couple of years Stephanie has earned certificates in Youth, Teen and Young adult Mental Health First Aid, including a master class in Mental Health First Aid. She also recently completed a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).

When not working, Stephanie enjoys cooking and trying new recipes, meeting new people, hanging out with friends, and exploring neighborhoods and attending arts and cultural festivals. She currently shares her house with a very vocal cat, Simcha, or Simi for short (Hebrew for Joy).

Meet K. Monet, our Senior Associate University Chaplain!

Rev. K (she/her/hers) serves as the Senior Associate University Chaplain at Wake Forest University, where she curates spiritual well-being practices across a broad spectrum of religious, ancestral, and philosophical traditions. She is an ordained Baptist Minister (PNBC+ABC) and leads efforts to create spaces of belonging, healing, and hope, particularly for those who are religious-tradition-rooted, yet spiritually fluid.

A seasoned practitioner of academic chaplaincy, Rev. K integrates mindfulness-based practices, ancestral spirituality, somatic therapy, and trauma-informed healing into her pastoral care approach. Her work explores the intersections of culture, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and justice. She is particularly drawn to the spiritual sciences as a pathway towards resilience and courage.

Prior to Wake Forest, Rev. K served as an Associate Pastor at The Concord Baptist Church of Christ in Brooklyn, NY, as an FTE recipient in their T.i.M. project. She also worked for Cornell University’s Cooperative Extension in partnership with the College of Human Ecology and Weill Medical Center.

Meet Akshay, our Assistant Chaplain for Interfaith Engagement and Hindu Life!

Akshay joined the Chaplain Office’s team in August 2024. He has years of experience serving the diverse needs of various religious communities, including college students, families, youth, and both Hindus and non-Hindus.

Akshay’s approach to spirituality is pluralistic. He believes that the world’s major religions ultimately have at a common aim – to connect with the Divine and others in the most intimate way possible. Thus, Akshay is committed to building bridges among different religious traditions and has an interest in interfaith dialogue.

Akshay also believes that a mature approach to spirituality requires both the head and the heart. The head side of his spirituality is informed by his academic training in Religious Studies at the University of Cambridge (Ph.D), Duke University (M.A.), and UNC-Chapel Hill. His research has focused largely on the Hindu tradition known as Vaishnavism and has spanned topics ranging from the problem of evil, social justice, and environmentalism. The heart side of his spirituality is informed by his chaplaincy training through organizations such as Karuna Care and Lutheran Partners CPE.
