Preserving our history. Protecting our legacy. ❤️🐏

WSSU has received nearly $750,000 to help preserve and renovate the historic S.G. Atkins House, named for university founder Simon Green Atkins.

More than a building, the Atkins House is part of the story of Winston-Salem State University and a connection to the vision that helped shape the university we know today.

This investment will help ensure that an important piece of WSSU history is preserved for generations of Rams to come.

| Fifty years later. Still Forever Red.

Golden Ram Anthony Pace, Class of 1976, has missed fewer than five homecomings since graduating from Winston-Salem State University. This November, he returns in a brand-new role as president of the WSSU National Alumni Association.

As a student, Pace was part of the Red Sea of Sound's original drumline, played on the Rams baseball team and served in student government. Now he's helping lead the next chapter of alumni engagement, working alongside the relaunched Young Alumni Council to bring Rams of every generation together. "At my age, I'm supposed to be advising and writing checks," he joked.

Homecoming 2026 kicks off with the parade on Sunday, Nov. 1. We'll see you there, Rams!

And this anniversary feels especially sweet with the gallery's doors open once again and a new chapter underway.

Here's to 36 years of preserving culture, inspiring creativity and making space for stories that matter. Happy anniversary, Diggs!
