| Two bands. One field. One unforgettable sound.

Winston-Salem State University's Red Sea of Sound is reuniting with Wake Forest's Spirit of the Old Gold & Black for a joint performance on Opening Night, Thursday, Sept. 3, as Wake Forest takes on Akron at Allegacy Financial Stadium. It's the third time the two bands have shared the field for Opening Night, following memorable performances in 2019 and 2021.

Made up of 145 students studying music education, music business and more, the Red Sea of Sound has performed everywhere from the Honda Battle of the Bands to the Circle City Classic. This reunion is a celebration of the deep, growing partnership between WSSU and Wake Forest, and the Winston-Salem community they both call home.

| From Lambs to Rams.

Winston-Salem State University's freshman class officially joined the Ramily on August 15, marching through the university's historic archway during the "Through the Archway" ceremony to close out Ramdition week. With the Red Sea of Sound setting the tone, the Class of 2030 stepped through the archway, symbolizing their transition from "lambs" to Rams.

Chancellor Bonita J. Brown welcomed the freshmen at the C.E. "Big House" Gaines Center, challenging them to see the moment as Day One of a new chapter. From move-in to the archway walk to Meet the Rams, Ramdition brought our newest Rams into the fold, and we couldn't be prouder to call them family.

| Industry expertise, shaping what's next.

Winston-Salem State University's College of Business and Entrepreneurship welcomed more than 40 business and industry leaders from across the country on August 13 for its Industry Insight Skills Summit. Representatives from Wells Fargo, Cisco, Charles Schwab, Google, Hanesbrands, Microsoft, Amazon, J.P. Morgan, Volvo Trucks, Whataburger and Reynolds American joined 20 CBE faculty members for roundtable discussions on what today's employers need from tomorrow's graduates.

The feedback will directly shape CBE's curriculum, supporting the "Inspiring Academics" pillar of Chancellor Bonita J. Brown's We Are Rising strategic plan and preparing WSSU's nearly 600 business students for career success.
