In the STEEL Program, students learn to manage their time the way they'll need to in a workplace: prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and showing up consistently. Being on time isn't just about a clock. It's about planning ahead, knowing how long things take, and building a routine you can count on.

Follow along to see what our students are learning and building every day.

What does career readiness look like? It looks like showing up on time, communicating with a team, and solving problems under pressure. In the STEEL Program, students don't just learn a trade. They build the habits and confidence that employers are looking for.

What habit made the biggest difference in your career? We want to hear it.👇

Showing up on time, being prepared, and following through all contribute to being dependable. The STEEL Program teaches students the habit of dependability through their daily routine, because in the workforce, reliability is one of the first things an employer notices and one of the last things they forget.

Today's a big day for Sara! She's officially starting her internship with Publix, and we couldn't be more excited for her.

Everything she's worked on in the STEEL Program, from food safety and kitchen organization to teamwork, communication, and showing up ready for work, is now going into a real workplace. This is what all that hands-on practice has been building toward.

Congratulations, Sara and good luck on day one! Drop your well wishes for Sara in the comments.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and the STEEL Program is proud to help spread awareness.

NDEAM recognizes the contributions of workers with disabilities and celebrates the employers, educators, and communities who champion inclusion in the workforce.

At Ridge Technical College, we're preparing students with intellectual disabilities for meaningful careers through hands-on training, real-world job experience, and the life skills that make independence possible, because every worker deserves a seat at the table.
