Welcome to the official page for the Rollins College Social Impact Hub. The Hub is a way of thinking.

It's about approaching societal inequities and environmental challenges with innovation to develop creative and sustainable solutions. Whether we are passionate about bringing societal change to the environment, poverty, education, immigration, healthcare, human rights, or any large-scale challenge, The Hub believes true solutions must begin with a deep understanding of the issue. The Hub provides a space for students and faculty to gather and innovate for social change.

Meet Hope CommUnity Center, our latest Humans of Impact spotlight! 🌎✨

Hope CommUnity Center is a nonprofit based in Apopka that works alongside immigrants and underserved communities, creating opportunities for people of all ages to learn, find support, and take an active role in their community. 💙

From English classes and immigration services to youth leadership, college access, and food assistance, Hope supports people in their everyday lives while creating spaces for connection and advocacy.

Chef José Andrés arrived in Puerto Rico four days after Hurricane Maria ripped through the island. The economy was destroyed and for most people there was no clean water, no food, no power, no gas, and no way to communicate with the outside world. Andrés addressed the humanitarian crisis the only way he knew how: by feeding people, one hot meal at a time. From serving sancocho with his friend José Enrique at Enrique’s ravaged restaurant in San Juan to eventually cooking 100,000 meals a day at more than a dozen kitchens across the island, Andrés and his team fed hundreds of thousands of people, including with massive paellas made to serve thousands of people alone. At the same time, they also confronted a crisis with deep roots, as well as the broken and wasteful system that helps keep some of the biggest charities and NGOs in business.

A weekend of theatre suitable for all ages! 😊
This weekend, the Sally K. Series for the 2026-2027 Season kicks off with a block of two shows geared towards the younger audience members. Those shows are the musical "Cinderella...If the Shoe Fits" 👠 and the play "Everybody Gets Eaten by Sharks" 🦈. From witnessing a retelling of a classic tale to adventuring into how to avoid wacky shark scenarios, there truly is something for everyone when it comes to the entertainment values of these shows! ✨
There is also something for everyone when it comes to the UNSDGs that these shows connect with. From SDG 4: Quality Education to SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, there are a lot of things that these shows do to contribute to creating a better world and a healthier environment! 🌎
Whether you're here for the environmental impact or for the entertainment value, these shows are certain to be a good time for all audiences and have a large impact on the Winter Park community, as well as our planet as a whole. And if you are interested, come and see the shows this weekend on Oct 2-4!! 🎭
