When you think of careers in agriculture, what comes to mind? If it's just overalls and a pitchfork, it's time for an update! 🚜🧬🛰️

Today's agricultural industry is a high-tech, fast-paced powerhouse driven by cutting-edge science and engineering. We are teaming up with our partners, Mid-State Technical College, for an incredible, hands-on day camp designed to show local students the high-demand, wide-ranging career paths waiting for them right here in Wisconsin.

Seeds of Success: Agricultural Careers Day Camp welcomes students on Thursday, July 9th (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM) to step into the shoes of modern ag professionals.

There is an incredible variety of roles out there:
🔧 Advanced Engineering: Servicing and programming custom-built, multi-million dollar tractors and harvesters.
🔬 Specialized Science: Working as a researcher or lab scientist in one of hundreds of distinct fields—from agronomy and soil health to food chemistry and viticulture.
🛸 Drone Technology: Mapping crops, scouting fields, and gathering aerial data to help farmers make real-time decisions.

Campers will rotate through four dynamic, interactive stations—Agronomy, Food Science, Equipment Tech, and Drone Tech—exploring them with hands-on activities using real-world examples.

⚠️ Important Registration Note: We require a minimum of 10 participants to ensure this camp will take place. If not, the course may have to be canceled. If you have a student ready to discover their future career path, please don't wait to register!

Parents, don’t miss the chance to sign up your middle schooler before registration closes.

College Camp 2026: Passport to Fun is Wednesday, June 10, at Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus. Students entering grades 6, 7, and 8 this fall will explore hands-on career activities in healthcare, agriculture, engineering, trades, cosmetology, media, and more.

Registration closes Sunday, June 7.

Designed for professionals in public service and emergency response fields, the two-day event will feature sessions focused on resilience, recovery, stress management, wellness, and performance in demanding environments.

Mid-State Technical College will host Tom Farley for a Community Conversation on Addiction, Mental Health, and Stigma on May 5 in Wisconsin Rapids.

As a national advocate for mental health and addiction recovery, Farley draws on personal experience to address the impact of addiction and the importance of reducing stigma. The event aims to foster meaningful dialogue and strengthen community awareness around mental health and recovery.
