The grant-funded (Hyper)Focus & Flow project will add three key components to the library: a Multisensory Space, a Sensory Recovery Area, and Sensory Bags available for in-library use.

As someone who is neurodivergent (ND) and has a household full of other ND people, I know how varied, inconsistent, and contridictory sensory needs can be. No single environment can address all possible sensory needs simultaniously. Therefore, I chose a multi-pronged approach in the hopes that my fellow NDs can find their comfortable niche within the Library.

The Library serves many purposes for students and the UVA Wise community, so my goal as the grant project lead and User Experience Librarian is to provide accessible, comfortable spaces for everyone. The grant requirements enable me to collaborate directly with ND students to custom-tailor sensory friendly spaces and supports for the UVA Wise community.

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Sunday: 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM

NEW THIS YEAR!
The Library building locks when the Library is closed. An active Cavs card is required to access the 24-hour side of the library after hours.
