From Sukkur to Saving Lives - Athar Khoso!!!

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Athar Khoso, a proud son of Sukkur, Sindh. This meeting was particularly memorable for me because it was the first time in my life that I met a fellow Sindhi working in the highly specialized field of Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Pedorthics, a profession dedicated to restoring mobility, dignity, and hope to people through artificial limbs, braces, and advanced assistive technologies.

Mr. Athar Khoso brings more than 25 years of experience to this field and serves in the United States as a Board-Certified Prosthetist, Orthotist, and Pedorthist. His expertise in advanced microprocessor-controlled prosthetic devices, research, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovation is truly impressive. However, what stands out even more than his technical knowledge is his passion for serving humanity. Through his work, he helps individuals overcome physical disabilities, regain their independence, and walk confidently through life once again.

I was especially honored that Mr. Khoso took the time to visit our SSDP House in New Jersey. His visit aligns perfectly with the mission of the Sindh Skills Development Program (SSDP), which is built on the pillars of Education, Skills, and Awareness. Meeting professionals like him reinforces our belief that Sindhi talent is making meaningful contributions across diverse and advanced fields around the world. His journey serves as a powerful example for our youth that success is not limited to traditional professions; with education, specialized skills, and determination, Sindhis can excel in even the most sophisticated and life-changing disciplines.

We often hear about engineers, physicians, and IT professionals, but it is truly inspiring to see a Sindhi achieving excellence in a field that directly transforms lives by helping people stand, walk, and live with dignity. Such accomplishments make us proud and remind us of the immense potential within our community.

I sincerely thank Mr. Athar Khoso for his visit, his kindness, and his commitment to improving the lives of others. May Allah bless him with continued success and enable him to keep making a difference in the lives of countless people. Individuals like him are a source of inspiration and a shining example for the next generation of Sindhi youth.

When Awareness Rises, Nations Rise

The people of Sindh have immense talent, intelligence, and potential, but the biggest tragedy is that many still do not know the right path, the right opportunities, or the real power of awareness. Awareness is such a powerful spark that people even risk their lives, hanging from tankers, crossing dangerous borders, and leaving everything behind just in search of a better future.

Imagine if this same awareness, guidance, education, and skill development reached our youth in time, Sindh would not be struggling the way it is today. Our problem is not lack of capability; our problem is lack of direction, mentorship, and awareness.

I hope this video opens the eyes of our people and makes them realize that nations do not rise through emotions alone; they rise through awareness, education, skills, and the courage to recognize the truth. Awareness can change the destiny of Sindh.

The Cage Cannot Silence the Sky Forever

The people of Sindh are like a bird that has been trapped in a cage for twenty years. Food and water are still being provided, so life somehow continues, but freedom, self-determination, dreams, and the right to fly have slowly been taken away. The only difference is that some cages are smaller while others are larger, yet the majority still remain imprisoned.

The greatest tragedy is that many prisoners have now started believing the cage itself is their entire world. And those few who managed to escape have become consumed by the “disease of flight”; instead of returning to help others spread their wings, they became lost in their own skies.

Sindh still stands today waiting for a miracle. But the truth is that miracles only happen when birds begin to believe in their own wings, break the chains of fear, and rise toward their sky through knowledge, awareness, skills, and unity. The day will come when the Caged Birds will Rise.

"Merit Sacrificed to Fill Classrooms”

This graph is not just a chart,It is a painful X-ray of the condition of our education system in Sindh. The University of Sindh intake capacity is around 15,000 students, but according to the PET 2026 results, only about 9,946 students could even cross the 40-mark cutoff. That means nearly 5,000 seats would remain empty if merit were maintained strictly.

So what happens? The cutoff is pushed down from 40 marks to 30 marks just to fill the seats. At 30 marks, around 15,164 students become “eligible.” This clearly shows that the system is not producing enough academically prepared students to meet even the university intake demand. When standards are lowered only to fill seats, the message becomes dangerous: quantity is being prioritized over quality.

This is where the concept of “Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO)” becomes relevant. If weak foundations are fed into universities, the output will also remain weak. Universities alone cannot fix a broken school and college system. The real crisis starts much earlier, from primary and secondary education.

The most alarming part is that only around 252 students scored above 70 marks, which is closer to what we may call a competitive or internationally acceptable standard. Out of millions of young people in Sindh, producing only a few hundred students at strong academic levels is a national emergency, not a normal statistic.

We are spending nearly 500–600 billion rupees annually on school and college education in Sindh, yet the outcome is devastating:

* Nearly half the children never even enter school.
* Many who enroll drop out before intermediate.
* Universities are forced to lower merit just to fill seats.
* And only a microscopic number reach internationally competitive standards.

This is not just an education failure; it is a future failure. A society cannot progress when its education system produces degrees without strong knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and global competitiveness. Lowering merit may temporarily fill classrooms, but it cannot build scientists, engineers, doctors, researchers, entrepreneurs, or leaders capable of competing with the world.

If we truly love Sindh, we must stop celebrating empty statistics and start demanding real educational outcomes, quality teachers, accountability, modern skills, and merit-based systems. Otherwise, we will continue producing frustration instead of talent, and dependency instead of innovation.

Success Begins When You Switch Yourself ON

Please Enable yourself, otherwise success will remain far from your life. Check every function of your life and make sure your mindset, skills, confidence, discipline, awareness, and vision are in “Enabled (ON)” mode. If life has given you weaknesses, failures, or disabilities, do not let them break you; turn them into special abilities and make them your greatest strength. The strongest people are not those who never struggle, but those who transform pain into power and challenges into opportunities. Excuses disable a person, but determination enables greatness. Believe in yourself, rise after every fall, and keep moving forward, Because growth begins the moment you refuse to stay defeated.

👉 “A Selfie with Sindh’s Future”
Friends, there’s something truly special about taking selfies with the youth of Sindh; at the SANA International Diaspora Conference London 2026, when I finished my speech and stepped out of the hall, two young men stopped me with great passion and said, “Sir, we really loved your speech, we wanted to meet you,” and what followed was a beautiful conversation where one of them was from Ghotki his caste was Chachar and although I don’t recall the other’s name, both carried dreams in their eyes, hope in their hearts, and determination in their spirit; we talked, we laughed, and I told them from my heart that I truly love the youth of Sindh and always make it a point to take selfies with young people and students, so we captured that memorable moment together, a simple selfie that reflects something much bigger, because these are the youth of Sindh who have come all the way from their villages to London, pursuing education and shaping their futures, MashAllah; for such passion, courage, and dreams, a selfie is not just a picture, it is a celebration-Thank you.

“Sindh on the Ventilator: A Crisis of Mindset, Not Resources”

I was honored to speak at the SANA International Diaspora Conference in London as a founding chairman SSDP , where Sindhis from across the world gathered, and I stood there not just as a speaker but as a voice carrying the pain of our motherland; I told them a difficult truth, that Sindh, our motherland, is in the ICU, on a ventilator, fighting for survival, not because we lack resources but because we are suffering from deep systemic failures rooted in mindset; our education system from Grade 1 to 12 receives a massive budget of 500 to 600 billion rupees, yet we are unable to produce students who can compete even at an average international level, and over the last decade even university performance has not improved but declined; every year around 1.7 million children are born in Sindh, of which nearly 300,000 to 350,000 die, and from those who survive, 45% never even enter a school, meaning we lose nearly half of our potential before it even begins, and from those who do enroll, about 700,000 start their journey but only around 200,000 make it to intermediate level, and at the university level barely 100,000 enroll each year, and even among them we struggle to find truly skilled and competitive individuals; the situation of technical education is even more alarming, with 160 institutions on paper but only 60 functional, and despite a budget of 15 billion rupees, we are unable to produce even a meaningful number of certified technicians, while Sindh has more than 9,000 industrial units yet over 90% of the skilled workforce is non-local, which means in our own home, the majority of skilled jobs are taken by others; this clearly shows that the problem is not money, the problem is mindset, because we have failed to nurture minds, create awareness, and ignite the spark needed for transformation, and without awareness there is no awakening and without awakening there is no change; at SSDP we are trying to play our role by mentoring youth, building their confidence, and showing them global opportunities, yet while more than 300 million people worldwide are working online, only 4,000 to 5,000 youth from Sindh are part of this digital economy, and with artificial intelligence expected to create 100 million new jobs in the coming decade, the question is are we ready, and the honest answer is no, but we can be if we come together, collaborate, and ignite an awareness revolution; another harsh reality is that for decades we have continued to elect the same leadership, and when those in power feel no fear of accountability and no risk of being replaced, change cannot come, development cannot come, and prosperity cannot come, so this mindset must change, because if someone fails to deliver we must have the courage to choose better, as real change begins when people take responsibility for their choices, and in the end everything comes back to one truth that the crisis of Sindh is not of resources but of mindset, so let us come together, ignite the spark, and bring an awareness revolution that awakens minds, builds skills, and transforms our future, because awareness is not just knowledge, it is the game changer that will define the destiny of Sindh.
