This week at The WorkSITE, we are excited to welcome two incredible summer bootcamps focused on helping students grow their skills and explore future career pathways!

Returning for their second year, Robinson ISD Welding students are participating in a summer welding bootcamp where they are sharpening their skills, exploring new welding processes, and continuing to build their passion for the trade. We are especially proud to have a State Champion Welder returning this year!

We are also thrilled to partner for the first time with the Workforce Solutions for the Heart of Texas and ESC Region 12 to host a Manufacturing Bootcamp for students representing several local ISDs. Through this program, students are developing hands-on skills that will prepare them to earn SACA Silver Certifications in three highly sought-after manufacturing skill sets.

A huge shoutout to these students for choosing to spend part of their summer learning, growing, and investing in their future. Your dedication does not go unnoticed—we can’t wait to see what you accomplish! 👏🔧⚙️

Friday brings an end to another OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Training Course at The WorkSITE on Wycon Drive in Waco.

Having this certification means class members can return to their employers with the knowledge to understand and implement workplace safety programs, minimize exposure to bloodborne pathogens and electrical hazards, and know how emergency response is carried out.

The WorkSITE was pleased to welcome Dr. Elton Stuckly and his wife Peggy for a tour of our facility and to hear about the exciting things happening here.

Dr. Stuckly is a 1975 graduate of the Electrical Power Technology program at Texas State Technical Institute (now Texas State Technical College). During his 33-year career at TSTC, he served in many roles including instructor, department chair, division director, vice president of instruction, president, and executive vice chancellor, and earned the Halliburton Award for Excellence in Teaching five years in a row.

Dr. Stuckly retired in March 2020 and continues to help students who have an interest in attending TSTC.
