This year’s annual Fellows’ debate put Team Rear Ends on trial for placement of a fictitious PEG tube that went 💀wrong💀, ultimately our secret jury sided with the accused and the Rear Ends are free to scope another day!

⭐️Huge thank you to all of our fellows for putting together a great and lively debate full of hard hitting facts 🔥
⭐️Thank you to faculty and secret jury for you deliberation and delivery of a fair and righteous verdict
⭐️And congratulations to Philip, our new Chief GI fellow for the 2026-2027 academic year!! We are so proud of you!

Congrats to Dr Arslan Talat our chief GI fellow for being inducted into AOA! Dr Talat embodies the best of UMass GI. This last year he has not only lead the GI fellowship, but also published multiple peer reviewed articles and become a talented endoscopist. His organization, knowledge, and compassion are unmatched. Congrats Dr Talat!

Another successful animal lab! Thank you to Boston scientific and Fuji for bringing their ESD lab to Umass. Their tools are helping pave the way for third space endoscopy!

Thank you to Boston Scientific for bringing their water based AXIOS model to UMass. Some of our fellows were lucky enough to try the model at DDW this year, but we were excited to all get hands on experience at home in our endoscopy unit
