Orientation week is here! IH Daily Drop-in hour (3-4pm) will be cancelled this week due to orientation events. Drop-in will resume next Monday 8/17.

Which team is gonna take on Spain in the Finals on Sunday? Find out with us this afternoon at the International House while we cheer for our favorite to win!

The FINAL GAME will be livestreamed in the Rubin Campus Center on SUNDAY (7/18) at 3:00pm! Head over to the Campus Center (lower level) on Sunday afternoon to enjoy some snacks and see Spain take on today's winner in the finals!!

WPI & the International House will be CLOSED tomorrow (Friday 7/3) in observance of Independence Day weekend. We will resume regular operations on Monday, July 6.

WPI offices will be closed tomorrow (Friday, June 19) in observance of Juneteenth holiday. We will resume regular business operations on Monday, June 22. While you enjoy your long weekend, we invite you to reflect upon the meaning of Juneteenth and it's important place in our US history.

What is Juneteenth, you ask? That's a great question!

Juneteenth (June 19th) is a federally recognized holiday which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the US, specifically marking the day in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of slavery. Although President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, it was logistically unenforceable in Confederate-controlled areas. It wasn’t until over 2-years later on June 19, 1865, that the news finally reached enslaved people in Texas, when Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in to read "General Order No. 3," finally enforcing the freedom of 250,000 enslaved Black Texans. Juneteenth honors not just emancipation, but the resilience, culture, and achievements of Black Americans, recognizing that true freedom arrived in stages.

FIFA is here! We’ll be LIVE STREAMING select games in-person at the International House – here’s what we have coming up! Join us this week for Thursday/Friday’s 3pm matches, and Monday for the Noon and 3pm matches! We’ll have more coming up later next week too – stay tuned for details!

Due to the painting work in-progress on our front porch, International House will be FULLY REMOTE on THURSDAY 6/4 and FRIDAY 6/5. All appointments and daily drop-in hour will be held via Zoom. Our physical office building (28 Trowbridge) will be offline during that time, but we'll be back in action in-person on Monday 6/8 (with a spiffy fresh coat of paint out front!)!
