Alpha Gamma Delta - Zeta Zeta Chapter Zeta Zeta chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta International Women's Fraternity at Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Welcome to the Alpha Gamma Delta - Zeta Zeta page! Founded in 1980 as the second women's fraternity at WPI, Alpha Gam is rooted with traditions of sisterhood, scholarship, philanthropy, and leadership. Our chapter is made up of a very diverse group of women, almost all of whom are involved in at least one other club or organization on campus. We are very devoted to our academics, and do our best to achieve high grades and maintain good scholarship. Study hours, study improvement plans, and major mentors are just a few more of the ways we help our sisters succeed academically. Our philanthropy is the Fighting Hunger, which supports the decrease of food insecurity for those across the country. The biggest philanthropy event held by the Zeta Zeta chapter each year is Teeter-Totter-A-Thon, where sisters raise money while taking turns riding a teeter-totter with a partnering organization on campus. This past A term we had two sisters abroad for IQP! Cam, our VP Of New Member experience studied in Panama, while Kate, our VP finance studied in Iceland. Here’s what they had to share!

Cam: “ Our team visited the community of Vaquilla in Coclé, Panama, to give them recommendations about bringing agritourism to their area.  We worked with our sponsor, Fe y Alegría, to create a website and brochure to help market the tourism in Vaquilla, and we provided them with several reports about our recommendations, the community’s input on tourism, and our marketing research.  I loved going to and learning about the Guna Yala and Emberá Drua indigenous communities in Panama!“

Kate: “My project assessed communication effectiveness at Nordural, one of Iceland’s largest aluminum smelters. Our project team conducted focus groups and interviews, toured the production plant, and developed focused recommendations for improving our sponsors messaging network. Iceland was so beautiful and I enjoyed taking in the bays, mountains, and glaciers as well as visiting the various museums, coffee shops, and walking spots that Reykjavik has to offer. My favorite part of this experience was the friends I made along the way, sharing in every experience and never taking the smile off my face :)”

Dear PNMs, we are so excited to formally introduce you to our Chapter President, Erin Henaghen, who has been working behind the scenes to ensure a positive and welcoming recruitment! They are so excited to meet you all and share their love of the chapter with you! ❤️💛💚

“Dear PNMs,
I still remember what it felt like starting out at WPI. Freshman year wasn’t an easy transition for me. For a long time I had trouble feeling like I truly belonged and I was questioning if I was even in the right place. Joining Alpha Gamma Delta changed everything. It gave me a space where I could be myself and I am forever thankful that I decided to go through recruitment. Alpha Gam gave me connections that redefined how I saw friendships, a support system that has never let me down, and a true home away from home.
Back then, I never imagined I’d one day be standing here as Chapter President. I didn’t see myself as a leader at all, but this sisterhood saw something in me before I saw it in myself. Taking a chance on Greek life gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone, grow into roles I never thought I could handle, and find a community that constantly lifts me up.
What makes Greek life so special is that our community extends far beyond our own house. Whether we’re teaming up with other organizations for events or coming together with the entire Panhellenic community, you are connecting to something even greater. It’s a network of women who cheer for you, push you to excel, and lift you up inside and outside of your chapter.
As you go through recruitment, my biggest advice is to trust the process. Look for the room where you see women who inspire you and where you feel understood. Taking this leap is the first step in finding your home away from home. We are so eager to share our sisterhood, our values, and our stories with you. No matter where your journey leads, we are wishing you the absolute best as you take this next big step.”

Love, Erin Henaghen
Chapter President

To welcome October, we want to look back on the leading actions of our sisters throughout September, hunger action month.

As a sisterhood we traveled to Krispy Kreme and had a bake sale! All proceeds went to Fighting Hunger across the United States

We were grateful to further contribute to the worlds work by helping our worcester community, alongside several organizations!

Gianna Escobar was our representative for this years Heartthrob, a philanthropy event organized by Alpha Phi in order to raise money for women’s heart health!
