What an exciting week at The MILL (Manufacturing Innovation and Learning Lab) at Penn State Berks! The Neon Hunters summer camp was a blast—our campers got creative with engineering and coding to design and laser cut their very own lights for future adventures! We’re so proud of their amazing work!

We had an amazing day at Penn State Berks hosting the United Way of Berks County Big Cheese event on Friday, June 12! Thanks to over 500 incredible volunteers, we packed about 250,000 macaroni and cheese meals, which Helping Harvest will share with Reading School District youth. What a fantastic way to support our community!

At Penn State Berks, students are conducting research that makes an impact, from emotional regulation in children to microbial life in the Blue Marsh Watershed. This spring, dozens of students engaged in undergraduate research shared their findings at not only local conferences, but also national ones. Every spring, students move out of the residence halls at the end of the semester, and many leave items behind that they no longer want or need. Penn State Berks Residence Life has found a way to make good use of these items by donating them to Opportunity House, an emergency shelter located in Reading. We have exciting news: Penn State Berks has been named to the prestigious Carnegie Opportunity Colleges and Universities – High Access, High Earnings Classification. This classification is Carnegie's highest designation recognizing colleges and universities that facilitate social and economic mobility, and only 16% of institutions evaluated for the designation met the criteria. We were delighted to welcome 240 middle school students and their chaperones from 15 Berks County schools to our annual Careers with Math Options conference a couple weeks ago. The students explored our beautiful campus while participating in engaging activities and learning from the many talented presenters and volunteers who made Penn State Berks so incredible. Thank you to our student panelists and keynote speaker Lorena Tribe, professor of chemistry, for inspiring our visitors. 💙🤍🐾

: Today we're thinking back to our students' Alternative Spring Break trip to the Seattle, Washington area, where they worked with members of the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe on conservation efforts and with Sound Salmon Solutions on efforts to help restore and protect waterways. The trip included students from Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg, and Penn State Lehigh Valley, and they shared some incredible photos from their journey. Proudly introducing the Class of 2026! We are so proud to celebrate the newest and largest-ever cohort of Penn State Berks graduates, who earned their degrees this past Saturday, May 9, at the Santander Arena.
