YSU Beeghly College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, and Education The College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences and Education at Youngstown State University provides students with a broad array of educational opportunities.

The Beeghly College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, and Education (BCLASSE) at Youngstown State University consists of many academic departments offering many different academic majors. We also have the capability of designing a degree program to meet the unique and/or individual needs of students. Graduates of the Beeghly College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, and Education are extremely successful in securing graduate school placements in their chosen field of study. They are equally successful in securing professional employment in areas that are either directly and indirectly related to their undergraduate degree.

The YSU Psychology club was founded in 2025 and won the Nova Award for Most Promising New Campus Organization in 2026. They are an evergrowing club welcome to anyone with an interest in psychology!

Most recently, alumni from the Student Affairs and College Counseling Track within the Counseling Masters program spoke to the club about graduate school, their career journey, and the multitude of career paths open to graduates of the program. These graduates may be closer to you than you think as many of them keep our school running! Our alumni work across our campus and other in career offices, student activities, academic advising, and more!

The psychology major began in Fall 1936 with the first psychology course offered in 1923. The field of psychology has experienced huge growth and with it, our program. We look forward to another 90 years of expansion and new research!
