We heard it's summer, but our students heard it's intern season. 💅💼

Meet Alayna, Josh, Ryan, and Noah, the Steel Museum's current interns. Alayna and Josh are current students in the Department of Strategic Communication & Media and are immersing themselves in the world of content creation and communication campaigns on behalf of the museum. 📸

Ryan and Noah are students in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department and peek behind the curtain of museum curation while setting up exhibit openings and assisting with events. 🖼

These guins are making a difference in your drinking water! 💧🐧

Our students interning with the Youngstown Public Water System earned glowing remarks from the water compliance coordinator Nick D’Alesio.

He stated, "The interns have provided a tremendous service to PWS while gaining valuable, real-world, on-site work experience. They have used their unique skillsets to digitize water infrastructure, develop solutions to mitigate water loss throughout the PWS system, provide analysis of water consumption and service line materials, while becoming valuable and well-liked members of the PWS team."

We are grateful for this continued partnership between PWS and our Humanities and Social Sciences Department!

This American Elm, dedicated May 1, 2026, stands proudly between the Beeghly Center and Campus Recreation symbolizing American freedom. During the American Revolution, patriots met beneath an Elm tree in Boston to protest British tyranny, which we commemorate through our celebration of America250. 🦅🐧

Senior history lecturer and general studies coordinator Kyle Starkey is officially a Dr.! Starkey recently completed his Ph.D. from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Modern German History.

You can catch Dr. Starkey next semester in Beer History at the Noble Creature on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. 🍺
