YSU STEM students took their passion for robotics into the community!🤖

YSU’s ECEN Department, Vector Club and Lunabotics Program joined the third annual STEM Outreach Event in East Palestine on August 15.

Our students connected with local robotics teams, talked with community members and helped introduce younger students to robotics and engineering. We’re proud to see our STEM community representing YSU beyond campus! 🐧

From research to the final presentation, high school students put in seven weeks of hard work through the Williamson & Watanakunakorn STEM Summer Research Internship Program. 🔬

Throughout the summer, students worked alongside YSU faculty, gained hands-on research experience and brought their projects to life at the Project Showcase.

We’re so proud of all they accomplished this summer! 🐧

There’s a colorful new mural brightening up the STEM office in Silvestri Hall thanks to YSU alum Lauren Barrett and the Academic Achievers! 👏

Lauren Barrett, who recently graduated with a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studio Art this past spring, designed an exciting mural that captures the experiences of being a YSU STEM student.

Throughout the summer, she worked alongside the Academic Achievers, a group of pre-college students, who helped her bring the mural to life.

Thank you to Lauren for returning to campus and sharing her time and talents with the Academic Achievers to create this colorful celebration of the YSU STEM experience! 🐧
