Eastern Michigan University welcomes and encourages comments and open discussion on our social media sites and blogs. EMU reserves the sole right to review, edit and/or delete any comments it deems are inappropriate for any reason. This can include, but is not limited to the following:
• Obscene, vulgar or sexually explicit comments
• Hateful, mean-spirited or generally
offensive comments
• Comments that include personal attacks, insults, profanity, name-calling, or threatening language
• Comments that encourage or constitute discrimination or harassment
• Comments promoting alcohol, drugs, or sex or gambling
• Use of copyrighted materials
• Using confidential or personal information
• Spam or commercial promotion of any kind
• Off topic remarks or links
• Redundancy in responding or presenting information
• Posts that represent or can be construed to represent or endorse the violation of any laws
EMU reserves the right to terminate a person's ability to post comments/materials or otherwise participate in our social media tools if there is repeated use violating the above restrictions. As Eastern Michigan University social media sites are open to the public any comments or content posted in these forums can be used by EMU for internal and external promotional purposes, and it is acknowledged that other participants may use your posted content outside of our control. If you do not wish to have your information made available on our sites you should refrain from posting. All links to other websites found linked from EMU social media sites are provided as a service to readers, but does not constitute endorsement or responsibility of content on external websites.
