Keynote Speaker Spotlight: Dr. Richard Greenlee

OHIO Zanesville is pleased to welcome Dr. Richard Greenlee, dean emeritus of Ohio University Eastern, as the keynote speaker for the Appalachian Stories of Resilience & Recovery Summit on Sept. 3.

Greenlee will present “Pickin' Walnuts: A Story of Hardship, Hope & Healing,” complementing a day centered on the personal stories of strength, perseverance and recovery found throughout Appalachian Ohio.

Stories of hardship. Stories of hope. Stories of healing.

On Sept. 3, OHIO Zanesville will host the Appalachian Stories of Resilience & Recovery Summit, bringing together voices from across Appalachian Ohio to share experiences of strength, perseverance and recovery.

The summit will feature a panel of individuals with lived experience and a keynote from Dr. Richard Greenlee, dean emeritus of Ohio University Eastern, titled “Pickin' Walnuts: A Story of Hardship, Hope & Healing.”

The event is FREE and open to the public, with both in-person and virtual attendance options available.

💚 Help support our neighbors in Crooksville and Roseville.

OHIO Zanesville will serve as a donation drop-off location for the WHIZ Flood Relief Collection Event tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

📍 Ohio University Zanesville

Suggested donations include dehumidifiers, fans, plastic totes, tools, building materials, drywall, new bedding, batteries, flashlights, extension cords, shovels, rakes and gift cards to home improvement stores.

Cash donations will also be accepted, along with checks made payable to United Way of Muskingum, Perry, Morgan Counties.

Every donation can help our neighbors as they recover and rebuild. Please consider stopping by and showing your support.

As we wrap up the final day of Welcome Week we just want say THANK YOU! We love the excitement from our Bobcats coming back to campus, but also the love you have being a Bobcat. Students are finding their favorite spots across campus and getting involved in the campus clubs. From enjoying the campus green to snacks in the atrium with our new Dean Dr. Kline - we are reflecting on the lwonderful start of the semester!
