What does Harmony Lodge do in our local community?

• We are responsible for maintaining several miles of “Road Clean-up”. Each year our members help beautify the area by collecting and removing trash and debris from area roadsides.

• We welcome the opportunity to work with other organizations to help them meet their goals. For decades, Harmony Lodge members have participated in “Ring

ing the Bell” during the holidays on behalf of the Salvation Army.

• We actively participate in Community Events and Celebrations. Throughout the year we enjoy being involved with the Communities activities. In many ways, their events become our events. From Parades to Pumpkins we have fun while supporting our community.

• We own and maintain our building and grounds. Being only a few blocks from Main Street, we are surrounded by private residences, the Community Park and a few businesses. We want to be good neighbors so it’s important that our facility is in keeping with the clean and safe high standards that are set in the neighborhood.

• We allow other organizations and private groups to utilize our facility. Due to our location, it’s common for the public to use our parking lot while attending other events – and that’s fine with us! We also have a large interior space with an adjacent kitchen that has been used for functions such as receptions, banquets, training studio and has also served as a certified election voting location.

• We hold fundraising events that also benefit various local organizations and individuals. A percentage of our operating funds is for Masonic related organizations as a discretionary distribution. In addition, it’s not unusual for us to make it known to our contributors that sometimes a portion of the funds we collect are for the benefit of another organization or an individual. Local first responders, youth organizations, and the Zelienople Community Park are among past recipients We realize that we are all in this together.

The Traveling Gavel is only bestowed upon one Lodge at this event. It is a recognition of significant attendance and participation.

Our annual Spring Open House is Saturday, April 4th from 10am - 2pm. In addition to tours of the facility, which includes a guided tour of the Masonic Lodge Room, a 250th Anniversary Quilt to Commemorate the country's semiquincentennial will be on display.

Additionally, the Model Train Club of Zelienople will have their Easter Model Train Layout. A must see for children of all ages.

While you are in the area you'll find many family oriented Easter related events to attend. For Example:

The annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Zelienople Community Park will occur at 11am. And, English Lutheran Church is having "Breakfast with the Bunny" beginning at 9am (Advanced Registration Required)

We are helping to celebrate the Semiquincentennial of our Country with a custom made 250th Anniversary Commemorative Quilt.

We commissioned local talent MargaRita Quilts ( http://www.facebook.com/MargaRitaQuilts/ ) to create this beautiful keepsake.

The Quilt will be on public display at our annual Spring Open House, Saturday, April 4th from 10am – 2pm and then be displayed at various events.

This week, Zelienople will be on full holiday display.

Thursday, December 4th we will be having our Annual Holiday Open house. Doors will be open from 4 - 8pm.

Tours of the building are available.

Additionally, in our Social Hall the Model Train Club of Zelienople will have their Polar Express Christmas Train layout on display. A must see for children of all ages.

Another major event is Miracle on Main and parade. From 4 to 8pm most local businesses and organizations will be opened and offering seasons greetings to all.

Thank you to all that attended our annual Halloween Open House. Children of all ages received a treat, toured our building and had a cup of hot apple cider.

Visitors also had an opportunity to see an amazing black-lit Halloween model train display by the Model Train Club of Zelienople.

“TOURS OF THE BUILDING TONIGHT”

Have you ever seen the interior of a Masonic Lodge room?

Freemasons such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Harry Truman, Mark Twain, Arnold Palmer and many other well known figures attended meetings in these historic places.

During Halloween trick-or-treat night (today 6-8pm) we will have our annual Open House.

Tours of the building will be conducted and candy along with hot apple cider will be available (while supplies last).

You may also get an opportunity to meet George and Ben.
