Dear AUT Community,
American University of Technology would like to share an important update regarding the academic leadership of our university.
After successfully leading the launch and establishment of AUT, our Founding Rector, Professor Said Irandoust, will conclude his tenure as Rector on June 13, 2026.
Professor Irandoust has played a pivotal role in shaping AUT from its earliest beginnings into the institution we are today. Through his vision, dedication, and leadership, he helped lay the foundations of our academic community, institutional culture, and long-term ambitions. His commitment to our students, faculty, and staff has left a lasting impact on the University, and we are sincerely grateful for his contributions.
As AUT’s Founding Rector, Professor Irandoust will always hold a special place in the history of our University. We thank him for his service, leadership, and belief in the future of AUT, and we wish him continued success in his future endeavors.
At the same time, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Victoria Fontan as the next Rector of AUT. Professor Fontan will join AUT as Designate Rector on May 18, 2026, and will formally assume the role of Rector in the middle of June.
Professor Fontan brings extensive international academic leadership experience, a strong commitment to innovation and student success, and a deep understanding of the transformative role of higher education. We are confident that under her leadership, AUT will continue to grow, strengthen its impact, and advance its mission of providing world-class education in Uzbekistan and beyond.
Sincerely,
American University of Technology
