This Thursday, Media & Communication students came together on campus for their Project Defense Presentation as part of the Work Integrated Learning Placement unit.

The presentations were reviewed by a panel of Media & Communication lecturers, who listened to students’ presentations, provided feedback on their work, and asked questions to further explore their internship and project experiences.

Students reflected on:
💼 Their organisations, roles and key responsibilities
📊 Major tasks, deliverables and outcomes
💡 Professional and personal lessons learned
🚀 Their capability development and future career plans

The session gave students an opportunity to showcase their achievements while demonstrating critical thinking, professional reflection, and awareness of industry standards. It was also a valuable chance to connect their academic learning with real workplace experiences and reflect on the skills and knowledge they are developing for their future careers.

Well done to all students for sharing your experiences and taking another important step towards your professional journey! 👏

The curtains have closed on “Vị Lợi”, an interactive theatre performance created and organised by a group of Media & Communication students as part of their communication project titled Sau Bức Màn” (Behind the Curtain).

More than a theatre performance, Vị Lợi was designed as an interactive experience where audiences could make decisions that influenced how the story unfolded. Through this creative format, the project aimed to bring young people closer to theatre and encourage them to engage with and experience the art of stage performance in a new way.

Behind the final performance were months of dedication, from rehearsals and creative development to production, media, and event coordination. Every element reflected the students’ commitment to bringing their vision to life and creating a meaningful experience for their audience.

As a student project developed within the Media & Communication units, “Sau Bức Màn” gave students the opportunity to put their communication knowledge and creative skills into practice — from developing the concept and content to promoting and delivering a live interactive experience.

Congratulations to the students behind “Vị Lợi” and “Sau Bức Màn” for their creativity, dedication, and perseverance throughout the journey.

Sometimes, the most meaningful events are not the loudest ones - they are the ones that give people a chance to slow down.

A student group from the Event Management (PUB30001) unit has transformed this idea into reality through SHOW-OFF: Sleepbrover, a live music experience inspired by the warmth and comfort of a pyjamas party.

Designed as a short escape from the demands of university life, SHOW-OFF: Sleepbrover welcomed nearly 100 participants to unwind, connect with friends, and enjoy an evening filled with music, conversations, and shared memories.

From the thoughtfully designed venue and themed photobooth to live performances and complimentary refreshments, every element was carefully curated to create a comforting and immersive experience.

And behind the cozy atmosphere of the event was months of planning, collaboration, and problem-solving. Throughout the project, students managed every aspect of the event - from concept development, marketing, sponsorship, logistics, and risk management to on-site operations and audience engagement - gaining invaluable hands-on experience while applying classroom knowledge in a real-world setting.

SHOW-OFF: Sleepbrover demonstrates how event management goes beyond organising activities. It is about designing experiences that bring people together, evoke emotions, and create lasting memories.

Congratulations to all students for delivering such a heartfelt and memorable event. Your creativity, professionalism, and dedication turned a simple idea into an experience that truly resonated with the Swinburne Vietnam community.

Recently, a student group from the Event Management unit (PUB30001) brought Vietnamese traditional culture to life through Mộc Sắc, a cultural workshop celebrating the art of Đông Hồ folk painting.

Inspired by the belief that cultural heritage is best preserved when it is experienced and shared, the workshop invited participants to explore the stories behind Đông Hồ paintings through hands-on woodblock printing, engaging activities, and conversations with artisan Nguyễn Đăng Dũng. Rather than simply showcasing a traditional art form, Mộc Sắc created an interactive and memorable experience that encouraged participants to connect with its rich cultural values.

Hosted at Timeless Coffee, the event provided a welcoming space where creativity, culture, and community came together. It also demonstrated how traditional heritage can be presented in ways that resonate with younger generations while preserving its authenticity.

Through organising Mộc Sắc, our students successfully applied the communication and event management skills developed throughout the unit to deliver a meaningful real-world cultural initiative. Their creativity, teamwork, and dedication are a wonderful example of how learning can make a positive impact on the community.

Congratulations to the team on a successful event!

What an incredible journey it has been! 🎉

A group of students from the Event Management (PUB30001) unit successfully brought Phố XÕA to life—an event that invited everyone to experience the vibrant spirit of Hanoi through delicious street food, live music, board games, memorable photo moments, and, most importantly, genuine human connection.

From the bustling food stalls and spontaneous conversations to the laughter captured at the Photo Booth and every smile shared throughout the day, each moment became part of what made Phố XÕA truly special.

More than just an event, Phố XÕA created lasting memories. We hope that whenever people think back to XÕA, they'll remember the laughter, the friendships, and a side of Hanoi that feels warm, vibrant, and close to home. ❤️

📸 Take a look at some of the highlights from this unforgettable day!

If you've ever wondered what you would do when there's no "right" answer, this might be the experience for you. 🎭 Join us for "Vị Lợi", an interactive theatre performance where your choices shape the story—and challenge what you believe about morality, friendship, and sacrifice.

Registration: https://forms.gle/Cpd8g3mdPrDERKQX6

🗓 Performance Date: Saturday, 1 August 2026
📍 Venue: ATH Theatre, No. 1, Alley 12B Thạch Cầu, Long Biên District, Hanoi, Vietnam
- Guest Reception: 6:30 PM
- Performance: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

“Vị Lợi" is more than just a theatre performance - it's an interactive experience where every decision you make can alter the course of the story. Inspired by the famous ethical dilemma known as the Trolley Problem, “Vị Lợi” follows the journey of three close friends who built a creative studio together during their school years. Ten years later, as they stand before a life-changing opportunity, the consequences of a decision made in the past unexpectedly resurface, forcing them to confront an impossible choice: sacrifice one person to secure the future of the group, or face the consequences together.

Please note:
- This performance is not suitable for audiences under the age of 13.
- Please complete the registration form accurately so that the Organising Team can confirm your reservation.
- A confirmation email will be sent after all registrations have been reviewed and processed.
