🌏 A MEANINGFUL SHORT-TERM PROGRAM WITH STUDENTS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF THE REPUBLIC, URUGUAY

Every year, Foreign Trade University is happy to welcome students from The University of the Republic, Uruguay for the short-term program “Economic Development of Vietnam and Implications for Inter-regional Cooperation.”

This year’s program took place on April 16–17, 2026, where students explored Vietnam’s economy, culture, and inter-regional cooperation, gaining new perspectives and insights along the way.

Beyond the lectures, the fun didn’t stop there! The students also got to experience traditional Vietnamese folk games, bringing lots of laughter and memorable moments. 🎉

A short program, but full of learning, connection, and cultural exchange—just the way we like it at FTU. 💛

🌿 HOME AWAY FROM HOME – A SPACE FOR CONNECTION AT FTU

On April 14, 2026, Foreign Trade University has organized the “Home Away from Home” circle for international and exchange students.

Studying far from home brings both excitement and challenges. This circle was created as a safe and welcoming space where students could slow down, share their stories, and find a sense of belonging through connection and understanding.

Facilitated by the “Touch and Empathy” project at FTU, the session invited students to reflect on “home” through simple yet meaningful sharing—from loved ones and favorite foods to everyday objects filled with memories.

💛 More than just an activity, the circle helped students feel more relaxed, less alone, and more connected.

At FTU, we believe that university life is not only about learning—but also about care, connection, and belonging.

🌸 Workshop: “HOME AWAY FROM HOME” – A Circle of Connection & Empathy 🌸

Living far from home marks the beginning of a new chapter—one filled with excitement, independence, and new opportunities. Yet, it can also bring moments of loneliness, pressure, and emotions that are not always easy to express.

Understanding this, Foreign Trade University warmly invites all international students to join a special mental well-being experience titled “Home Away from Home.” This is a safe and welcoming space designed especially for students—a place where you can pause, connect, and simply be yourself.

More than just a workshop, this experience offers the opportunity to relax, share meaningful stories about “home,” and connect with others who may be navigating similar journeys. It is a space where your voice is heard, your feelings are acknowledged, and your presence is valued.

🌏 A WEEK OF GLOBAL CONNECTIONS AT FTU ✨

Last week at Foreign Trade University was a vibrant celebration of international exchange, bringing together students from across the world for meaningful learning and cultural discovery.

📍 March 23, 2026 – Keika Junior & Senior High School (Japan)
FTU had the pleasure of welcoming students from Keika for a dynamic day on campus. From lively minigames with our Vietnamese students to painting traditional Non La, the morning was filled with creativity and connection. The day concluded with an engaging lecture on Leadership, sparking thoughtful discussions on personal growth and global perspectives.

📍 March 27, 2026 – Erfurt University of Applied Sciences (Germany)
Closing the week, FTU hosted students from FHE for an immersive cultural experience. The program began with an interactive session introducing key aspects of Vietnamese culture with our Vietnamese students, followed by a more in-depth lecture in the afternoon — offering students both practical insights and deeper understanding.

Although each visit was brief, the impact was lasting. These moments reflect FTU’s ongoing commitment to creating a truly international learning environment — where ideas are exchanged, cultures are shared, and global citizens are shaped. 🌍🤝

✨ BUDDY MATCHING 2026: FIND YOUR BUDDY, START YOUR JOURNEY ✈️🌍

On March 20, 2026, FTU’s Office of International Affairs brought students together for the Buddy Matching: Find Your Buddy Session, kicking off the exchange journey for Fall Semester 2026–2027.

From the very first moments, the room was filled with laughter, energy, and new connections. International students, exchange alumni, and outgoing FTU students came together not just to meet — but to build friendships, share experiences, and get ready for what’s ahead.

💡 Highlights of the night is a fun “Treasure Hunt” challenge where teams tackled real-life exchange situations, tested their teamwork, and bonded through every twist and turn.

💬 What made it special? Real stories, practical tips, and genuine connections — all in one place.

Though it lasted just one evening, Buddy Matching opened the door to new friendships, new stories, and a shared journey waiting to unfold 🤝✨

📢 HOLIDAY NOTICE & STUDY ARRANGEMENTS

Foreign Trade University would like to inform all lecturers and students of the upcoming holiday schedule:

The University will be closed on April 26–27, 2026 for Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day (with April 27 as a compensatory day off), and on April 30 – May 1, 2026 for Reunification Day and International Labour Day.
All classes on April 28–29, 2026 will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams instead of in-person.

🎉 FOREIGN TRADE UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES THE ESTABLISHMENT OF HO CHI MINH CITY BRANCH

On 6 March 2026, Foreign Trade University (FTU) officially held the ceremony announcing and presenting the Decision on the establishment of the Foreign Trade University - Ho Chi Minh City Branch.

This milestone marks an important step in FTU’s long-term development strategy to expand its education network and further strengthen its position as a leading university in Vietnam, committed to high-quality education and international integration. The establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Branch is built upon more than 33 years of development of the campus in Ho Chi Minh City, opening a new phase of growth with stronger academic autonomy, enhanced capacity in education and research, and greater engagement with businesses and the labor market — particularly in the dynamic economic hub of Southern Vietnam.

A MEMORABLE ACADEMIC EXCHANGE WITH STUDENTS FROM RITSUMEIKAN UNIVERSITY 🇯🇵🤝🇻🇳

From 1–4 March 2026, Foreign Trade University had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from the College of Law, Ritsumeikan University (Japan) for a short academic program at FTU’s Hanoi Headquarters.

During their stay, the students participated in a series of academic sessions and discussions focusing on legal studies and contemporary legal issues. The program provided an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of law while exchanging perspectives in an international academic environment. ⚖️📚

Beyond the classroom, the program also created space for cultural connection and friendship. Informal exchanges between students from both universities allowed participants to share experiences, learn about each other’s cultures, and build lasting cross-border connections. 🤝✨
