HUMG SPE Student Chapter is a SPE student association under the management of the Faculty of Petroleum, University of Mining - Geology and is also one of the student associations of SPE worldwide (134 member countries in it). including Vietnam). HUMG SPE Student Chapter was established and recognized by SPE (International Association of Petroleum Engineers) and University of Mining - Geology in 2013, with the goal of:
- Help students improve their knowledge and career skills through self-discussion sessions and seminars presented by leading experts in the fields of geology and oil and gas.
- Create opportunities for students to have the opportunity to contact and update specialized materials such as specialized SPE articles, graduation theses from famous universities such as Stanford, Texas A&M, Texas at Austin, Tulsa Oklahoma, specialized magazines such as JPT, World Oil, Hydrocarbon Processing, and multimedia documents...
- Guide and help students practice the necessary skills of an engineer such as: How to prepare and report a seminar, public speaking skills, how to write a CV, skills Personal financial management, teamwork, presentations, time management, searching for specialized documents on the internet... In addition, it also helps students practice skills such as organizing events, inviting sponsorship, external relations, community activities,...
-Improve foreign language ability, especially listening and speaking skills, for students through specialized discussion activities in English by foreign experts.
- Mobilizing scholarships from SPE to support poor, studious students, scholarships to study abroad, etc.
- Organize for students to attend monthly SPE meeting at Sheraton Hote (Online/Offline)
- Participating in outstanding international competitions and seminars abroad such as: Asia Pacific Petrobowl Competition, Oil and Gas Horizon Conference in Russia, APTC International Petroleum Technology Conference,... In addition, there are many competitions and seminars organized by SPE Student Chapters at foreign universities.
- HUMG SPE is also a place to connect students from many different fields such as Engineering, Information Technology, Economics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, M&E, Environment, Construction, Tourism, Earth Science , Management Science ... thereby helping students have a multi-dimensional view, expand their knowledge in many fields, reduce the constraint and dryness from technical documents, ... and many more activities

HUMG SPE Student Chapter là chi hội sinh viên SPE trực thuộc sự quản lý của Khoa Dầu khí, Trường Đại học Mỏ - Địa chất và cũng là một trong những Chi hội sinh viên của SPE trên toàn thế giới (Hơn 134 nước thành viên trong đó có Việt Nam). HUMG SPE Student Chapter được thành lập và công nhận bởi SPE (Hiệp hội kỹ sư dầu khí quốc tế) và Trường Đại học Mỏ - Địa chất vào năm 2013, với mục tiêu:
- Giúp các bạn sinh viên nâng cao kiến thức và kỹ năng nghề nghiệp thông qua các buổi tự thảo luận và hội thảo do các các chuyên gia hàng đầu trong lĩnh vực địa chất và dầu khí trình bày.
- Tạo cơ hội cho các bạn sinh viên có điều kiện tiếp xúc và cập nhật các tài liệu chuyên ngành như bài báo SPE chuyên ngành, luận văn tốt nghiệp của các Trường Đại học nổi tiếng như Stanford, Texas A&M, Texas at Austin, Tulsa Oklahoma, các tạp chí chuyên ngành như JPT, World Oil, Hydrocarbon Processing, và các tài liệu multimedia…
- Hướng dẫn và và giúp các bạn sinh viên thực tập các kỹ năng cần thiết của người kỹ sư như: Cách thức chuẩn bị và báo cáo một bài seminar, kỹ năng nói chuyện trước đám đông, cách viết CV xin việc, kỹ năng quản lý tài chính cá nhân, làm việc nhóm, thuyết trình, quản trị thời gian, tìm kiếm tài liệu chuyên ngành trên internet... Ngoài ra còn giúp các bạn sinh viên rèn luyện các kỹ năng như tổ chức sự kiện, mời tài trợ, đối ngoại, sinh hoạt cộng đồng,...
-Nâng cao khả năng ngoại ngữ nhất là các kỹ năng nghe và nói cho các bạn sinh viên thông qua các hoạt động thảo luận chuyên ngành bằng tiếng Anh do các chuyên gia nước ngoài đảm trách.
- Vận động các nguồn học bổng từ SPE hỗ trợ cho các bạn sinh viên nghèo, hiếu học, các nguồn học bổng đi học ở nước ngoài…
- Tổ chức cho các bạn sinh viên tham dự SPE meeting hàng tháng tại Sheraton Hote (Online/Offline)
- Tham gia các cuộc thi, hội thảo quốc tế nổi bật tại nước ngoài như: Cuộc thi Petrobowl Châu Á Thái Bình Dương, Hội nghị Chân trời dầu khí tại Nga, Hội nghị công nghệ Dầu khí quốc tế APTC,... Ngoài ra còn nhiều cuộc thi và hội thảo do các SPE Student Chapter tại các trường Đại học nước ngoài tổ chức.
- HUMG SPE còn là nơi kết nối các bạn sinh viên từ nhiều lĩnh vực khác nhau như: Kỹ thuật, công nghệ thông tin, Kinh tế, Hóa dược, Cơ Điện, Môi trường, Xây dựng, Du lịch, Khoa học trái đất, Khoa học quản lý… qua đó giúp các bạn sinh viên có cái nhìn đa chiều, mở rộng kiến thức trong nhiều lĩnh vực, giảm bớt sự gò bó, khô khan từ các tài liệu kỹ thuật,... và nhiều hoạt động khác.
