The BNU Inter-Collegiate Karate Championship & Selection Trials 2025–26 brought together student-athletes from across Bengaluru North University for a day of focus, discipline and exceptional sportsmanship.
Hosted at the Indian Academy Degree College (Autonomous), the championship featured Kata and Kumite events, showcasing both technical precision and competitive spirit.
The event also served as the selection platform for athletes who will represent Bengaluru North University at the All India University Karate Championship 2025–26.

Complex problems often have relatively simple solutions. Sustainability can be practised by taking some steps, literally. Calling out billionaires for using private jets needs to be backed by carpooling. Signing a petition to reduce the overall urban footprint needs to be balanced by increasing our real petrol-free footprints. Supporting Greta Thunberg’s large acts of resistance must be followed by your smaller, equally effective efforts to clean up our own cities and bring grassroots change.

At IAGI, we believe in committing to action. Activism against global warming, backed by our individual efforts, has the potential to make the world a more livable, sustainable place. On 8th November, Red Cross ran a health check-up camp in collaboration with IAGI. The team also conducted blood sugar tests. On November 14th, as we observe World Diabetes Day, we encourage you and your loved ones to also undergo regular blood sugar tests. Every decision affects our health, from when we sleep and what we eat to how much we exercise and how early we detect and react to the symptoms of lifestyle diseases.

On that note, we bring forward a few quick hacks to control your blood sugar levels:
1. Walk gently for ten minutes after every meal to prevent blood sugar spikes.
2. Choose high fibre carbs such as brown rice to reduce the risk of diabetes.
3. Keep a regular sleep schedule to protect yourself from insulin resistance.

As an institution, we believe in empowering our students to be ready to take on the world by learning to take care of themselves. If you know someone who needs to be tested, take them as soon as possible and join them in making lifestyle changes that can prevent or manage diabetes.

The better part of Sajana’s worldview is rooted in football. Like Ronaldinho, she’s learned a whole lot about life kicking the ball. And like a true sportsperson, she gives credit where it’s due; whether it's the support extended by IAGI through scholarships or her father’s constant cheers on and off the field.
Looking back, Sajana fondly remembers the beginnings that brought her to where she is now. What started as a fun tag-along with her brother to his football practices quickly became the highlight of her day. A phrase she lives by? ‘Winning or losing is a part of the game. You can always improve what you focus on.’
She has played at the Superleague level (1st division football) as part of the Superleague squad, in addition to playing for her State and Bengaluru football club.
Her favourite part about football is the sense of peaceful flow that takes over once she’s on the field.
