To meet the growing responsibilities and demands of this profession, we offer a six-year doctorate program. This curriculum results in a bachelor’s degree in clinical health studies and a professional doctorate in physical therapy. This summer, Ithaca College DPT students and students from other colleges and universities traveled to London for a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the practice and principles of osteopathy and manual medicine. Throughout this program, the students gained firsthand experience with osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) and explored the integration of osteopathy into a healthcare system outside of the United States. This experience broadened their professional perspectives, enhanced their clinical skills, and fostered a deeper understanding of global healthcare practices!

Our rising DPT 3 students wrapped up their first full-time clinical experience last week! 🎉 Over the last 8 weeks, they've had the opportunity to strengthen their clinical skills, build confidence treating patients, and learn from incredible clinical instructors. A big thank you to all of the clinical instructors and sites for supporting our students throughout their first clinical experience!

Community! Thank you to the many PT students from Blocks 1 and 2 of CLS this semester for your hard work! We came together to celebrate the participants and share information with family and loved ones about their progress this semester!

Go Baby Go is a program that adapts commercially available electric ride-on vehicles to the needs of children with mobility restrictions. Ithaca College Physical Therapy Students work alongside Cornell Biomedical Engineering students to provide personalized motorized vehicles for kids that allow them to move more independently. This year we were able to provide 5 children with their own vehicle!

In April, the Belonging and Equity Committee hosted the PT Expo, an event for students to learn more about areas of PT practice. Community PTs and graduate students hosted tables to provide information about the many ways that PTs are involved in healthcare.
