The QCTO Hairdresser Qualification launches in July 2026 at EEC Springs Campus
The purpose of this qualification is to prepare YOU to operate as a Hairdresser.
• SAQA QUAL ID: 102497 – NQF L4
• QUALIFICATION TITLE: Occupational Certificate: Hairdresser
• MINIMUM CREDITS: 540
Occupational profile:
Hairdressers perform hair and scalp treatments, cut and style hair and perform chemical hairdressing services in a professional, safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Curriculum structure:
This qualification is made up of the following compulsory modules:
Knowledge Modules – College based
Practical Skill Modules – College/ Product brand studio based
Work Experience Modules – Salon based
Entry requirements:
NSFAS funded for the 2026 academic year, applications will open 1 July 2026.Not previously NSFAS funded for another qualification.
Grade 9 with previous hairdressing experience – not currently committed to a salon
Grade 10 with mathematics or mathematical literacy passed
Responsibilities:
Actively participate in your own learning goals.
Show professionalism for the Hair Industry and commitment when placed for Work Experience Modules
