UFS Faculty of Education The Faculty of Education is located on three campuses namely, Bloemfontein, South Campus and Qwaqwa.

Our vision is of a Faculty that affirms the dignity of its students, its staff and the community with which it engages, and draws on their diversity as a source of strength. Prof Loyiso Jita, Dean of the Faculty of Education, wishes all Faculty of Education students the very best as they prepare to write their examinations.

As you enter this important stage of your academic journey, remember that your dedication, hard work, and perseverance have brought you this far. Approach each examination with confidence, remain focused, and trust in the knowledge and skills you have gained throughout the year.

Mr Magwa, Xhariep District Director, shared valuable insights into different approaches to educational leadership, highlighting the realities of the teaching profession and the significant role teachers play in shaping society. He encouraged student leaders to lead with compassion, remain resilient in the face of challenges, and continue making a positive impact, even during difficult times. The Free State Provincial Head of the South African Council for Educators (SACE), Mr Tlomatsana, highlighted the core values that guide the teaching profession, emphasising the importance of lifelong learning and continuous professional development for student teachers.
He encouraged future educators to familiarise themselves with the SACE Code of Professional Ethics, reminding them that professionalism and ethical conduct must be upheld both inside and outside the classroom, including when they are off duty. The Teaching Practice Directorate at the Bloemfontein Campus in collaboration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE), hosted the annual Student Leadership Awards to recognise and celebrate outstanding student leaders who made a meaningful contribution during the final-year B.Ed. teaching practice period. The awards honoured student leaders who demonstrated dedication, leadership, and commitment by guiding, supporting, and inspiring their fellow student teachers throughout their teaching practice journey.

Congratulations to all the award recipients for their outstanding leadership and valuable contributions to the teaching profession! Your commitment to empowering others reflects the qualities of future educators and leaders.
