Important matters concerning student welfare, upcoming events including Sports Day on 5th September 2026, and community life were discussed.

🎓 ACADEMIC CONVOCATION

The SJV community gathered today for the Academic Convocation, addressed by the Academic Dean, Registrar, and Dean of Students.

The Academic Dean, Fr Sbongiseni Msomi, reflected on the Apostolic Letter of Pope Leo XIV, "Drawing on New Hopes",published in 2025 to mark the 60th anniversary of Gravissimum Educationis. His Holiness presents education as a process of formation in which the whole person is nurtured and developed.
Education is more than the transmission of knowledge and content; it is also about cultivating and strengthening virtues, character, and values within the person. Education is a process of formation!

In attendance were students, lecturers, and support staff.
