Hi I'm Ulene Loxton. A 26year old single parent. I was a student at UWC in 2011. I was studying Bbibl that year, however due to personal and financial instability was forced to leave campus. Later in that same year found out I was pregnant in December. Everyone was shocked and hurt . I didn't have an easy life. In 2012 gave birth to a very handsome young boy. In 2017 while working at a creche in our beloved Casablanca community I've decided to get myself enrolled at UWC in 2018 because that will be the year my son will be starting Gr.R at Temperance Town Primary. When I received my answer in January 2018 that I've been accepted I couldn't believe it. I was happy and ecstatic at the same time. None of my family members knew about me wanting to go back to varsity. The beginning of classes I was not yet registered because I did not have the funds and I was too late to apply for NSFAS. I posted something regarding funding in the strand community news group and I've met an amazing woman miss Leontine Leontine Sitzer-ThomasLeontine Sitzer-ThomasLeontine Sitzer-Thomas. I explained to her my story and as I was about to throw my hands in the air, she said to me "girl it's no point to be throwing your hands in the air after one obstacle, it's okay we'll look again for funding to get you registered". That words gave me comfort. Because of her helping me I was only allowed to pay R2300 instead of R4950 for registration. After that textbooks were needed and all of that. She created me a page and got my registration sorted. A friend of mine and her husband supported me with textbooks and another with traveling money. Many times I came to campus without eating and sometimes I would only be able to eat when I get home. I was struggling deeply because I didn't have anything to eat but then I heard about this amazing person who's helping out students. I send her a request and I recieved monthly assistance that helped me buy food for both me and my son. Long story short. Here I am again in 2020 looking for help towards achieving my goal
