We welcome Prof. Maria Elena Cuenca Rodriguez (Autonomous University of Madrid) to SACM. As the President of the Society for Musical Analysis and Theory, her work sits at the fascinating intersection of centuries-old music and cutting-edge technology.

Presented over two days, the music technology talks will explore:

Lecture 1: Monday 11 May, 1pm in C09

Learn how we use AI and data science to analyze hundreds of 16th-century scores at once. This session reveals how digital tools uncover the hidden "fingerprints" and stylistic secrets of Renaissance composers that are often invisible to the human ear.

Lecture 2: Friday, 15 May, 2pm in C09

Discover how early composers "sampled" and borrowed melodies to create new masterpieces. We’ll explore how modern coding tracks these musical relationships, mapping the ancestry of choral works and showing exactly how these historic "remixes" were built.
