Cape Peninsula University of Technology Retirement Fund The Cape Peninsula University of Technology Retirement Fund (CPUT Retirement Fund) was established o The Fund is approved for tax purposes as a Provident Fund.

The CPUT Retirement Fund is a Defined Contribution arrangement. This means that the benefit you will receive on retirement depends on the contributions that are set aside monthly as your retirement savings and the investment return (positive or negative) earned on this money. In addition to providing retirement benefits, the Fund also provides resignation, retrenchment, death and disability benefi

ts. This gives you flexibility because you can decide how much of your benefit you want as a lump sum and/or pension at retirement.

Dear members

A Retirement Planning workshop is scheduled for tomorrow in Seminar Room 1, 1st Floor, Admin Bdlg, Bellville Campus @ 10am. All members are welcome - particularly those members aged 55 and over.

This is an educational session with the intention to help you make an informed decision at retirement and to ensure a better understanding of:
- The different types of pensions available
- The things to look out for when deciding
which pension option best suits you
