Tomorrow we stand as a nation against Gender-based Violence. Let us unite and strive for our basic human rights. We will no longer walk and live in fear! We will no longer accept this reality. Now is the time to take a stand and say Enough is Enough!

Safety items:
- closed shoes.
- ID.
- portable charger.
- scarf to dampen and cover your face.
- water and snacks to keep you going
- do not walk alone and stay as a group.
- write an emergency contact number down and keep the piece of paper in your pocket.

Fellow Tygermaties

The time in which we find ourselves is heart-wrenching and traumatic, especially so for women.
Women aren't safe, no matter where they are.

It is time for us - especially those who express as men - to stand up and take action. Talking is no longer enough.

Tygerberg Student Parliament fully supports any protest and engagement against the violence enacted on women by men who feel entitled to their bodies and their lives.

The Executive Committee supports the stance taken by the TSR and stands in solidarity with women. We stand among our fellow students who are protesting, and will amplify the voices of those who are hurting right now.

TSP supports the march on Parliament planned for tomorrow, and we will attend and stand in solidarity with Tygerberg students who are going.

In this time, when our faculty and university management has elected to remain silent on the violence against women, it is up to us to push for change.

I encourage everyone to attend safe spaces and other engagements, and to keep speaking about Uyinene, Jesse, Janika, Leighandre, and the countless other women whose stories have not been heard.

Let us not be silenced.
