The ARISE call for applications is currently open
Closing date: 28 February 2014.

ARISE will provide a total of 100 opportunities for masters and doctoral studies as well as for shorter research and administrative visits for student and staff mobility between the partner institutions.

The ARISE partner institutions are the University of Cape Town, (South Africa - Co-ordinating institution), Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia), Makerere University (Uganda), University of Nairobi (Kenya), University of Rwanda (Rwanda – previous NUR) and the University of Ghana – Legon (Ghana). ARISE’s technical partner is the University of Leuven and the International Education Association of South Africa serves as associate partner.

The Scholarship covers:
1. Roundtrip flight ticket and visa costs (using a preferred travel agent and calculated against direct linear distance)
2. Direct participation costs such as tuition fees, registration fees and service fees where applicable
3. Comprehensive Travel Insurance (Health, Accident and Travel)
4. A monthly subsistence allowance for the mobility period (see below)

Master: €600 @24 months
Doctorates: €900 @36 months
Staff: €1000 @6 months

The Consortium Selection Committee and Consortium Management Group held its respective selection and nomination meetings on 30 September and 1 October in Cape Town. Scholarship recipients will be informed of the outcome of their application by the end of October 2013.
