Join UCT and higher education leaders from across Africa at the inaugural All-Africa Higher Education Xchange taking place from 31 August – 1 September 2026.

More than a conference, the Xchange is a collaborative, continent-wide conversation that will bring together leaders, researchers, policymakers, industry and partners to help define what excellence in African higher education should look like, and how it should be defined by Africa, for Africa.

Through a collaborative co-creation process, participants will contribute to the development of the All-Africa Principles for University Excellence, helping to establish the foundations for Africa's first continent-wide, African-informed rankings framework, designed by Africa, for Africa, and grounded in the priorities, contexts and aspirations of the continent.

Join us for an extraordinary panel discussion commemorating the 60th anniversary of Robert F. Kennedy's historic "Ripple of Hope" address, which took place at the UCT, at the height of Apartheid South Africa, on June 6, 1966.

At the gathering, Robert F. Kennedy passionately delivered a groundbreaking speech, addressing the inequalities of the time, leaving a lasting legacy in South Africa and globally.

Jointly hosted by Harvard Kennedy School and the University of Cape Town, the commemoration highlights - 60 years later - the significance of Robert F. Kennedy's words in transforming society today.
