The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Convocation will be convened as a hybrid meeting (virtually and in-person attendance as preferred) and is scheduled as follows:

Platform: Kramer Law Building, Middle Campus, Lecture Theatre 1 or ConveneAGM Platform (hybrid)
Register your attendance in-person or virtual by Friday, 13 November

The AGM takes place in accordance with the Statute of the University of Cape Town. Meetings of Convocation are restricted to members of Convocation. Notices of motion must be submitted in writing by no later than 13 November to [email protected].

Tonight we hosted a Student Donor Appreciation Event at the Hasso Plattner d-school Afrika building.

It was an amazing opportunity to hear from students on how UCT donor funding has made a difference in their academic journeys.

Thank you to all the speakers for sharing their stories and to all the participants who attended the event.

A special mention to all the donors who continue to support UCT and whose financial contributions leave a lasting impact on students lives.

We brought together our UCT community for a Happy Hour at the Standard Deviant Brewing Company in the Bay Area yesterday 🇺🇸

It was a great opportunity for participants to meet fellow UCT alumni and friends, and be part of the growing UCT alumni community in the area.

Cheers to more events like these 🥂 Thank you to Julian Siebert for hosting and US Board member Aisha Pandor for spearheading the get together alongside Marifel Verlohr.

The UCT UK Trust hosted an exclusive screening of Lakutshon' Ilanga (When The Sun Sets) and Why The Cattle Wait, with award-winning South African filmmaker and UCT alumna Phumi Morare which was followed by a Q&A with the audience 🎞️

The Trust also acknowledged Gillian Conway (Class of 1965) with her sons, Nick and Oliver Conway.
Gillian celebrated her birthday on the day and was presented with her Golden Graduation scarf at the end of the event 🎓

A delightful evening spent with alumni and friends in the UK! Keep an eye out for more events like this on our platforms.

Albie Sachs: Fathers, Sons and Soft Vengeance, comes to the Baxter Studio for a limited season from 13-31 October 2026!

Written by Gail Louw, directed by Fiona Ramsay and starring Graham Hopkins as Albie Sachs, the one-person play honours one of South Africa’s most remarkable figures: activist, survivor, constitutional architect and champion of human rights.
