On Wednesday, 25 March 2026, Dr Maropeng Mpya, Chairperson of the Independent Electoral Commission, and Ms Ntombi Kgomosotho, Commissioner, launched the SRC elections manifesto at the Simiso Nkwanyana Building in KwaZulu- Natal Regional Office.

Students' structures and organisations presented their manifesto in a highly tense environment, where students' intolerance for leadership was evident.

The parties presented their manifesto today: ANCYL, EFFSC, MKSM, SASCO, ULSA. UNISA FORUM FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES; DASO, was not represented.

On Friday, 20 March 2026, the Ohlange High School Alumni Association held an Awards Ceremony for the 2025 matric top achievers awards for both learners and educators, which was attended by prominent alumni such as the former first lady, Ms Bongi Ngema-Zuma and others who graced this event and assisted with the handing over of school uniforms as part of Gogo MaKhumalo School Uniform Project, for learners who come from poverty stricken backgrounds. UNISA KwaZulu-Natal Region was invited to deliver the message of support and showcase the university as the university of choice for learners of this historical significant school founded by the great Rev. Dr John Langalibalele Dube. This ceremony was attended by learners, parents, educators, alumni association leadership, community leaders, and the community at large, took place at the imposing school's amphitheatre at Inanda.

On 18 to 20 March 2026, eThekwini Municipality, Umlazi Mega City, Department of Education, and several NPOs, joined hands to deliver the 2026 Future Youth Careers Expo: Ikusasa lakho liqala lana! where high schools from Umlazi and Lamontville attended, as well as youth, prospective, and current Unisa students visited the Unisa career exhibition stand for various queries, held at the Umlazi Mega City Mall.
