ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: YASTRI NAIDOO

We’re proud to shine the spotlight on our alumni, Yastri Naidoo, who studied towards a Bachelor of Exercise in Sport and Leisure and is making strides in the sports industry!

Since completing his studies, Yastri has taken his passion for sport and performance into the professional world taking on roles as a:

Strength & Conditioning Coach at Strength Society and Emeris Hockey Men’s 1st Team. He is a Sports Massage Therapist and he is also a Level 2 Cricket Coach at the Baboo Ebrahim Sports Trust Cricket Academy.

Yastri’s journey is a great example of how passion, dedication and the right foundation can open doors to exciting opportunities in sport. We’re incredibly proud to see him putting his knowledge into practice and contributing to the development of athletes across different sporting codes.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: BROOKE BUCKLEY

We’re shining the spotlight on Brooke Buckley, a second-year Bachelor of Exercise in Sport and Leisure student who continues to excel both in the classroom and on the hockey field.

Brooke has been part of the USSA Hockey team for the past two years and has further expanded her skills by completing courses in Sport Massage, Kettlebell Training and Powerlifting.

When she’s not busy with her studies, Brooke takes to the field with Thomas More Hockey Club, who recently claimed the Second Division League title.

We’re so proud of Brooke’s dedication, hard work and commitment to both her academic journey and sporting career. Keep pushing boundaries and making us proud Brooke💙

THIRD YEAR STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: TIMIKA

Meet Timika, one of our outstanding third-year students who continues to make her mark both academically and professionally.

As a Teacher Assistant in her third year and a member of the SRC for the past two years, Timika has consistently shown leadership, dedication and a commitment to those around her.

Her hard work has also earned her recognition as one of our top academic achievers — proving that excellence in the classroom can go hand in hand with practical experience.

Timika recently took her skills to USSA, where she worked as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for both the men’s and women’s hockey teams.

She is also gaining valuable industry experience through her internship at Evexia, continuing to develop her skills and prepare for an exciting career ahead.

For the third year running, we’ve had the absolute pleasure of working alongside KZN SPAR Hockey and School Girl Sports.

From hitting the road with KZN SPAR Hockey to visiting all the different regions, it’s been such a special experience celebrating the incredible talent, passion and dedication of our schoolgirls.

And now for the exciting part!!
