FROM THE GARDEN TO THE KITCHEN!

Lephalale TVET College’s Ellisras Campus hosted the Rising Chef Competition today, 20th October 2026 in collaboration with Agric Africa Development (AAD).

Six Ellisras Campus students competed for two places in the next round, showcasing their culinary skills, creativity and passion for cooking:

Dembe Ennocent
Bridget Mathe
Anna Mmakgabo Maharala
Jeanette Morumudi

The competition gives students an opportunity to put their classroom learning into practice, build confidence and demonstrate their potential as aspiring chefs. Linked to the One TVET One Garden initiative, it also encourages the use of garden produce in their dishes, connecting food cultivation with creative cooking.

Well done to all six participants for taking on this challenge! Congratulations to the following two students who will represent the College in the next round:

LEPHALALE TVET COLLEGE RECEIVES RECOGNITION AWARD AT THE AGRISA AWARDS

Lephalale TVET College proudly received a Recognition Award at the AgriSA Awards for its College Garden Initiative, which continues to promote sustainability and provide fresh produce for the College community and Hospitality Department.

This achievement reflects the collective efforts of College Management, General Workers, Security Officers and students who have contributed to the garden’s success.

Special appreciation goes to Hospitality HOD, Ms Santie Van Heerden, and the participating students, particularly Mathe Bridget, who was nominated for her outstanding commitment to sustaining the garden.

The College extends its gratitude to the Principal for providing the necessary resources and to all staff and students who support the initiative by purchasing its produce, ensuring its continued growth and sustainability.

IMPORTANT NOTICE | HISTORIC STUDENT DEBT SETTLEMENT OPPORTUNITY (2013–2025)

Lephalale TVET College wishes to inform former and current NC(V) Electrical Infrastructure Construction (EIC), Engineering and Related Design (ERD), and NATED Engineering students from Lephalale Town and surrounding villages of an opportunity to have their historic outstanding student fees settled through the support of a sponsoring company.

This opportunity is available to NSFAS-funded and self-paying students who studied between 2013 and 2025 and have outstanding student debt.

The initiative aims to assist affected students in obtaining their academic results and certificates.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

* Copy of Identity Document (ID)
* Proof of residence

SUBMISSION OPTIONS:

Option 1: Email Submission
Email scanned copies of the required documents to [email protected] on or before Sunday, 18 October 2026 at 11:00.

Option 2: Walk-in Submission
Submit the required documents at the College Registration Office today, Friday, 16 October 2026, between 07:30 and 11:00.
