Invitation to the Embassy of Finland’s ‘Future is made with Finland’ webinar series

Kindly please receive the attached invitation to the Embassy of Finland’s ‘Future is made with Finland’ three-part webinar series commencing on 18 August 10h30 – 12h00 CAT.

The Finnish Embassies of the Southern African region (Dar es Salaam, Lusaka, Maputo, Pretoria and Windhoek) are proud to present the webinar series . It is the first of its kind discussing pathways to Finland and providing information specific to the Southern African audience in an informative and interactive way. will highlight and discuss opportunities Finland offers in high quality higher education, research and innovation as well as study and employment opportunities. It increases awareness of Finland’s talent hubs, universities and start-ups and mobilises interest to study and work in Finland.

Episode breakdown
● 18 August, Ep1 10h30 – 12h00: This episode will discuss why Finland is an attractive country to study and work in research. It covers coding, artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Turku plug-in university in Namibia among others.
● 25 August, Ep2 10h30 – 12h00: This episode will explore how Finland is a world leader in research and innovation. It covers themes such as photonics and agriculture as well as research collaboration between the University of Johannesburg and the University of Helsinki.
● 1 September, Ep3 10h30 – 12h00: This episode will delve into the practical pathways to Finland, featuring testimonials by students and workers from the Southern African region sharing their experiences living in Finland.
● All episodes will include a live panel of people, who have succeeded to benefit from opportunities offered by Finland.

Greetings from the University of Tuebingen!

After two, very successful Virtual Intercultural Pre-Packages (Tü-VIPP) during the last year, we are happy to announce that we will be offering this virtual course package once again in Fall/Winter 2021.
The virtual course package consists of language and intercultural courses and is offered to those international students who cannot attend Tuebingen University physically. The package is free of charge.

We, the International Office, are therefore delighted to announce that our third "Tü-VIPP" program is now open for applications:

Tübingen - Virtual Intercultural Pre-Package (Tü-VIPP)

Dates: October 11 - December 17, 2021

Application deadline: August 28, 2021

ECTS credits: up to 4 per course

Program fee: Free of charge

Students can choose one or two courses (including a German/English Language course plus the Buddy Program).

The courses are taught in English. In addition, German language courses on three different proficiency levels can also be chosen. Students will be thoroughly prepared for their “real” stay at the University of Tuebingen in the future in a variety of very interesting, intercultural, and interactive courses. However, the program is also open to students who cannot attend Tuebingen University in person in the future.

After a very successful first version of our Virtual Intercultural Pre-Package (Tü-VIPP), we are happy to announce that we will be offering this virtual course package once again in Spring/Summer 2021.
The virtual course package consists of language and intercultural courses and is offered to those international students who cannot attend Tuebingen University physically. The package is free of charge.
