As the Electoral Commissionโ€™s (IEC) voter registration weekend for the 2026 Local Government Elections gets underway, Prof. Mandla Radebe from the UJ Department of Strategic Communication joined SABCโ€™s Chriselda Lewis at the Soweto Campus earlier today to discuss the importance of youth participation in the democratic process and why young people should register and vote.

The University of Johannesburg has climbed 16 places in the latest QS World University Rankings, securing its highest-ever position and earning a place among the world's top 300 universities for the first time.

South Africaโ€™s housing crisis is no longer just about numbers; itโ€™s an issue of dignity, climate resilience, and energy poverty.

In rural communities, families are heavily burdened by rising construction costs and poorly insulated homes that expose them to extreme temperatures.

To tackle this, researchers at the UJ Engineering and the Built Environment have partnered with Canna-B-Africa to develop a science-driven solution: a high-performance, locally engineered H**p Brick prototype that could completely redefine how the country builds.
