Viking Rowing Club was established in 1951 by a group of ex-Wits University Oarsmen led by Dan Robinson.Over the years it has played a significant role in developing and supporting South African rowing.

All are welcome! Friends, family, rowers and non-rowers alike. This lovely springtime afternoon at *Beachwood Gardens* will *start from 13:00* and feature a *buffet luncheon, musical performances* by the talented Southside Griot, a *raffle for a weekend stay at The Blades*, a *live auction* led by Rob Riccardi (you’ll recognise his voice as commentator for all the regattas!), and a *silent auction* with *over 50 items up for grabs*! Auction lots will include a mix of rowing and non-rowing themed items from wooden oars, art prints, books, a photoshoot, a Digby Hoets ceramic pot, and bronze sculptures made specifically for this evening by our very own masters rower Steven John Wilkins!

Unfortunately the organising committee has had to make the difficult decision to postpone the event due to the weather forecast for Thursday evening.

The new date is during springtime this year, on September 28th. If you have bought tickets already, Quicket will give you an option to hold onto them or to refund them. And for those who haven't bought tickets yet, the link remains open for our Spring Luncheon in September!

A taste of things to come.
Did you know there will be a live and silent action at our fundraising dinner on 29 May. Here’s more info about the live action lots, as well as the raffle prize.

Please note that for the LIVE auction we will have telephone bidding available, and/or if you'd like to place a maximum bid and see if you get it.

i.e. Your maximum is R5 000 for a Lot and we will have someone bid on your behalf. If you're the highest bidder at R4 000 then yay! It's yours. If it goes past R5 000 then you've lost ☹️

For the SILENT auction we can do something similar with the maximum bid and have someone bid regularly on your behalf until you win or lose 😝

You can appoint a proxy yourself, someone who will attend that evening 😁 or please contact anyone on the organising committee to arrange someone for you.
