The Graduate School of Business Administration, otherwise known as the Wits Business School, (WBS) was established in 1968. Until 1992 the school operated as a separate faculty within Wits University. In 1992, the school of Public and Development Management (P&DM) was founded and both WBS and P&DM operated as independent schools within the Faculty of Management. In January 2001 both schools were i

ntegrated into the new Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management together with the School of Economic & Business Sciences, the School of Law and the School of Accountancy.

A busy morning at the MBA Expo! Our vibrant team of Programme Managers was on the floor at the Sandton Convention Centre, answering questions about the WBS MBA - from application through to the learning journey and what makes WBS special.

On stage, Professor Mills Soko facilitated "Change Agents: leadership lessons for a future worth leading," organised by SABSA, drawing out real leadership lessons from a panel of seasoned leaders.

Dr Jabulile joined the Financial Mail's panel on entrepreneurship - tackling the barriers to entry, funding models, dealing with failure, and the big question: can entrepreneurship be taught?

Congratulations to Gerald Mariemuthoo on being named one of the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans for 2026 - a well-deserved recognition of his work protecting the integrity of South Africa's currency and financial system.

As a currency integrity investigator at the South African Reserve Bank, Gerald is helping safeguard public trust in one of the country's most vital institutions. We're proud to have him in our community as he completes his MBA at Wits Business School.

Meet the Committee 👋 We're proud to introduce Dr Xolile.

A WBS alumna, Dr Sibande is an information and cyber security leader with over 15 years' industry experience - a technologist, public speaker, board advisor, non-executive director, mentor and academic. Her expertise spans information security, cybersecurity, risk management, governance, compliance and digital transformation.

She holds a PhD in Management from Wits Business School, a Master of Commerce in Information Systems from the University of the Witwatersrand and several international certifications, with leadership roles across the private and public sectors - assurance, banking, digital services, financial services, higher education, regulatory, telecommunications and tech - strengthening cybersecurity resilience and maturity.
