ROBBERY OFF CAMPUS:

Here are some crime awareness tips that can help you avoid becoming a victim of a robbery:

1) Be aware of your surroundings: Always be alert and aware of what's going on around you. Don't be too engrossed in your phone or other distractions that you miss potential danger signs.

2) Avoid high-risk areas: Stay away from areas that are known to have a high crime rate, especially at night.

3) Travel in groups: Try to travel in a group whenever possible, as there is safety in numbers. If you have to walk alone, let someone know where you're going and when you expect to arrive.

4) Stay in well-lit areas: If you're walking at night, try to stay in well-lit areas and avoid dark alleys or secluded areas.

5) Keep valuables out of sight: Don't flaunt expensive jewelry or electronic devices in public, as this can attract thieves.

6) Don't resist: If you're confronted by a robber, don't resist. Give them what they want and try to stay calm.

7) Trust your instincts: If you feel uneasy or sense danger, trust your instincts and take evasive action.

8) Be prepared: Keep emergency numbers programmed in your phone and carry a whistle or personal alarm to attract attention if you need help.

Remember, prevention is key to avoiding a robbery. By being aware of your surroundings and taking precautions, you can reduce your risk of becoming a victim!!

Driver Safety tips!

Leave enough room between your car and the one in front at junctions and traffic lights to avoid being boxed in.

Guard against distractions while driving.

Adjust your speed when approaching a traffic light so that you do not have to come to a complete stop.

Do not put valuables on passenger seats. Objects in plain sight will make you a target for smash and grab!

Close vehicle windows and ensure your doors are locked when approaching intersections with pedestrians.

Always be alert while driving!
