Today, we celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures, languages, traditions and histories that shape our identities as South Africans. Our heritage connects us to our roots, while reminding us of the value of embracing one another's differences.

At the University of Johannesburg, inclusivity is central to building a community where every individual feels respected, valued and a sense of belonging. Our diverse backgrounds and perspectives enrich our university and strengthen our collective ability to shape a more inclusive future.

As part of this celebration, Hoepie and the VC bring you a special Heritage tribute recorded at the Kruger National Park, commemorating 100 years of this iconic South African treasure and its remarkable natural heritage.

We recently hosted our first Alumni Evening event in partnership with the UJ Alumni Office at the UJ School of Tourism and Hospitality at APB.

The evening brought together alumni, colleagues and guests for an opportunity to reconnect, network and engage in meaningful conversations about the future of the transport and supply chain industry.

A highlight of the evening was the panel discussion, “Beyond the Dashboard: Is Digitalisation Actually Fixing South Africa’s Supply Chains?”

The conversation explored how digitalisation is transforming supply chains through improved visibility, efficiency and data-driven decision-making, while also looking beyond technology to the importance of skills, collaboration and strategic implementation in addressing South Africa’s supply chain challenges.

We were pleased to be joined by:

🔹 Talifhani Banks – Founder & Group CEO, AnalyticsX Group
🔹 Andrew Stephens – Director, Maluti-X
🔹 Namhla Nxumalo – Supply Chain & Strategic Sourcing Professional

A special thank you to Phenyo Shabangu – Principal Consultant, Maluti-X, for moderating the discussion and facilitating an engaging exchange of perspectives.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to making our first Alumni Evening such a great event. It was wonderful to reconnect, share ideas and strengthen the connections within our alumni community.
