๐ŸŒŸ Celebrating our alumni, celebrating excellence!

Last night, we gathered at the Kerzner Building to celebrate two outstanding graduates at the 2026 STH Golden Circle and Rising Star Alumnus Awards.

๐Ÿ† Wayne Fisher, Executive General Manager at Greater Cradle Hospitality, received the Golden Circle Alumnus Award, recognising remarkable achievement and contributions to the tourism and hospitality industry.

โœจ Sharon Ryan, Cluster People Development Manager at Ennismore in Dubai, received the Rising Star Alumnus Award, celebrating her innovation and achievements as an emerging industry leader.

Both recipients reminded us of something important: behind every success is a community that encourages, supports and inspires us. Their achievements reflect the talent nurtured at STH and the impact our graduates continue to make in the industry.

Congratulations, Wayne and Sharon We are proud to celebrate you.

To everyone who joined us - our alumni, staff and industry partners - thank you for making the evening so special. Letโ€™s keep the connections alive and continue to celebrate the people shaping the future of tourism and hospitality. ๐Ÿ’›

Heritage Day is a reminder that our strength lies in recognising, respecting and celebrating the diversity that defines us.

At the University of Johannesburg, we are proud of a community where people from different cultures, backgrounds and walks of life come together to learn, collaborate and shape a better future. Inclusivity means ensuring that everyone has a place, that every voice is respected and that our differences are embraced as a source of collective strength.

In the spirit of this celebration, Hoepie and the VC bring you a special Heritage tribute from the Kruger National Park, commemorating 100 years of this extraordinary natural treasure.
