The Official Launch of the First Comfort Room in the TVET Colleges

Ekurhuleni East TVET College, in partnership with Higher Health, officially launched its Comfort Room at the Springs Campus, marking an important milestone in advancing student wellbeing and support within the TVET Colleges

The launch was officiated by Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Nomusa Dube-Ncube, alongside Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Ms Mmapaseka Steve Letsike, who delivered the keynote address.

The Comfort Room provides a safe, supportive and stigma-free space where students can access support relating to mental health, gender-based violence, HIV, psychosocial wellbeing and other challenges that may affect their personal and academic journeys.

This landmark initiative shows Ekurhuleni East TVET College and Higher Health are committed to creating a safe, supportive, inclusive environment where every student feels heard and empowered to succeed.
