My name is Thabo Antony Lubisi, a proud graduate of Unigrad College with a National Diploma in Tourism.
I started my qualification at Unigrad College in 2019, and in my second year the Covid-19 pandemic hit. It was not easy at all. We faced lockdowns, online classes, uncertainty and many challenges, but we kept pushing until we could return to in person classes on campus. That difficult period taught me resilience, discipline and determination and values that I carry into my business today.
After I graduated at Unigrad College, the knowledge, skills and confidence I gained became the foundation of my entrepreneurial journey. Unigrad did not just give me a qualification, it gave me the business understanding, tourism management skills and professional mindset to turn my passion into a career.
Through Tourism, my journey took me beyond South Africa. In 2024-2025, I spent almost a year in China, gaining international exposure in the tourism industry and learning how global tourism operates. That experience proved that a Tourism qualification can take you anywhere in the world.
Today, I am a successful businessman and Founder of Destination Butterfly Service (Pty) Ltd, a tour operating company based in Mpumalanga. We showcase the beauty of Mpumalanga to the world while creating opportunities in my community.
To current and future Unigrad students: If we could push through Covid-19 and still graduate, you can push through anything. Your qualification in Tourism is not just a certificate, it is a passport to the world and a key to building your own future.
