We’re excited to see Richardt Strydom, Lecturer in Graphic Design and Critical Studies at AIE School of Art & Design, joining the judging panel for the 2026 iPendoring Awards.

This year’s campaign is all about something we know well in South Africa: sometimes your mother tongue simply says it better.

And that’s what iPendoring celebrates — the wit, nuance, character and creativity that comes alive when we create in the languages that are truly ours.

We love seeing our lecturers out there, sharing their expertise and helping recognise the work shaping South African creative culture.

Sometimes, you don’t know what you’re capable of until you give yourself the chance to try.

For Ephraim, his love for art started in high school after his teachers noticed his attention to detail. He never planned on studying engineering, but after completing AIE’s Foundation Programme, he realised it was something he could see himself doing.

His advice? Don’t wait for the “perfect” time to start.

There will always be another reason to wait, after graduation, when you get a job, when you have more money. But there’s never really a perfect time.

You just need to start.
