Penn State Engineering Leadership Welcome to the official page of the Penn State Engineering Leadership Development program!

The Engineering Leadership Development (ELD) program focuses on providing a challenging, relevant, and dynamic world-class program that further engages students in their education while preparing them for leadership roles in a technical work environment. The ELD program has a variety of programs to help you develop the leadership skills needed to excel in an engineering career. The ELD courses pro

vide you with the understanding of individual, team, and organizational leadership; global competencies and multicultural awareness; and innovation and management. Skill sets of effective leaders are practiced in local and virtual international teams aimed at designing and building solutions for developing nations. Our programs include:

Huge congratulations to the ELD Award winners from ENGR 408 at the Engineering Design Showcase 👏

Team 9 – HapticNav (Jood Albelaihed, Khushi Chandak, Evan Krohn, Ryland Wulff, Lucas York) earned Most Innovative Design for their seamless haptic system delivering real-time boarding updates, reducing noise, easing congestion, and improving the airport experience.

Team 3 – NoiseIQ (Deniz Albayrakdileo, Bridget Hilty, Akshay Krishnan, Khadija Nadeem, Joey Uhler) earned Best Communication for their real-time noise monitoring system designed to protect airport workers through smart data and clear, impactful insights.

Last Thursday, the teams in ENGR 408 presented their final projects for the ACRP Design Challenge to judges from Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute. It was incredible to see the creativity, dedication, and months of hard work come together in these presentations. Huge congratulations to every team for a great semester of innovation and collaboration!

The ENGR 408 students welcomed Beth Stump from Chevron into class today! Beth shared her expertise on the risk and value of deep-sea drilling, giving students real-world insight into how complex operations are analyzed and executed safely and effectively.

Her visit came at the perfect time as teams finalize their risk mitigation strategies, cost-benefit analyses, and value propositions for their ACRP Design Challenge projects! Thank you Beth for an engaging and impactful session. We appreciate you sharing your experience and perspective with us!
