This celebration is more than a commemoration it is a powerful reminder that education is a fundamental tool for empowerment, transformation and sustainable development.

For our Adult Education and Training (AET) learners, literacy opens doors to opportunity, dignity and lifelong learning. It provides a foundation upon which individuals can acquire new knowledge, develop skills, participate meaningfully in the economy and build better futures for themselves, their families and their communities.

As we celebrate 30 years of MQA, we also recognise the important contribution of the mining sector and its partners in advancing education, training, skills development and economic participation.

🌱 Education and skills development are key to empowering our youth.

Our young people are the leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs and professionals of tomorrow. By investing in education, literacy and relevant skills, we equip them not only to seek employment, but also to create opportunities, contribute to their communities and become active participants in South Africa’s economy.

🤝 Together, we can bridge the gap between education and opportunity.

🎓 Together, we can empower our youth and communities.
⛏️ Together, we can build a skilled and inclusive workforce for the future.

As we celebrate International Literacy Day and 30 years of MQA, let us reaffirm our collective commitment to ensuring that no learner is left behind and no young person is left without an opportunity to learn, develop and thrive.
