Mandela Month 2026 | A Reflection on Transformation, Service & Ubuntu.🌍

Mandela Month is more than a moment of remembrance, it is an opportunity to reflect on the values that continue to shape our collective journey towards a more just, inclusive and transformed society.

In this reflection, the Transformation Office at Nelson Mandela University looks back on the meaning of Mandela Month 2026 and the ways in which service, solidarity, dignity and Ubuntu continue to inspire transformation within our university community and beyond.

As we honour Madiba’s legacy, may we move beyond reflection to action, recognising that transformation is an ongoing journey that requires all of us.✨

On 12 September 2024, the Transformation Office at Nelson Mandela University wrapped up shooting for the Amanda Mememza Anti-Gender-Based Violence series and, as always, there was never a dull moment on set.πŸ˜‚πŸŽ¬πŸ€©

What began as a production became so much more than a set. The team created a joyful, supportive space where creativity could thrive, where laughter and connection existed alongside the weight of an important story.🎞️

Through the telling of Amanda’s story, the team brought passion, purpose and authenticity to every scene. There was an effortless rhythm to the work β€” a beautiful balance of professionalism, dedication and the simple joy of creating together.πŸ˜‡

Behind every frame is a team that cares deeply about the story they are telling and the impact it hopes to make. They showed up with heart, supported one another, and made the process feel as meaningful as the message.πŸ“£

Here’s to the people behind the scenes who remind us that even when telling difficult stories, there can still be space for joy, connection and hope.πŸ”₯

Wrapping up Day 1 on the set - 10 September 2024 πŸŽ₯✨

Scene directed by Sesona Bonke πŸš€

What an incredible feeling to wrap up the first day of filming the Nelson Mandela University Anti Gender Based Violence production. Telling the story of Amanda Memeza has been more than just a production journey, it has been a journey of learning, truth uncovering, reflection, and, at times, confronting scenes that felt a little too close to home.❀️

Every conversation, every scene, and every story has reminded us of the power of telling stories that matter and creating space for truth to be heard.πŸ“£

To the entire team, thank you for the passion, honesty, and heart you continue to bring to this journey. And to everyone at the Transformation Office at Nelson Mandela University, thank you for your continued support in helping us tell Amanda Memeza’s story.✨

Here’s to the next chapter of the journey. πŸ“–πŸŽ¬
