Today, as we celebrate the journey at the Sasol Solar Challenge Award Ceremony and share the Sunchaser solar cars with the young minds at Green School, we also want to celebrate the people who helped make this achievement possible — many of whom you may not have seen in our videos.

After 8 incredible days of determination, teamwork, innovation, challenges, long roads and unforgettable moments — we have crossed the finish line!

And today, we celebrate something truly special:

🇿🇦 Sunchaser 4 is the FIRST SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM IN HISTORY to take on this specific route without trailering the solar car!

The team is absolutely ecstatic, and the energy at the finish line is incredible! 🙌🔥

This achievement belongs to every student, lecturer, engineer, supporter, sponsor and partner who contributed to getting Sunchaser 4 from the workshop to the road — and ultimately to Paarl.

The final chapter of our Sasol Solar Challenge journey is here! 🚗☀️

Today, Sunchaser 4 travels from Clanwilliam towards our finish on Suid Agter Paarl Road, Paarl, with a controlled stop at Charlie Hofmeyer High School in Ceres.

After days of determination, teamwork, innovation and countless kilometres, we are ready to complete this incredible journey — chasing the sun to Cape Town and fueling the future of solar innovation. 🌍⚡

Today, we would also like to shine a spotlight on Bodotex South Africa and sincerely thank them for their contribution of composite material to the project. Your support has played a valuable role in helping our team develop and advance Sunchaser 4. 🤝☀️

Another incredible day on the road comes to an end!
Today, Sunchaser 4 covered an impressive 341 km from Springbok to Clanwilliam, bringing us one step closer to the finish line. 🚗☀️
From cloudy skies in Springbok, to our controlled stop in Vanrhynsdorp and the excitement of seeing young learners eager to discover solar technology, Day 7 was filled with unforgettable moments.
But this journey has never been about the kilometres alone.
It has been about people, partnerships, engineering, innovation, learning and the shared belief in a solar-powered future.

🚗☀️ DAY 7 | A SPECIAL STOP IN VANRHYNSDORP

Sunchaser 4 has made its way past Vanrhynsdorp Hoërskool - "Rhynies" , where curious young minds were eager to see the solar car and learn more about solar technology! 👏🔆

Our 30-minute controlled stop in Vanrhynsdorp gave the team an opportunity to connect, share knowledge and hopefully inspire the next generation of engineers, innovators and renewable-energy enthusiasts. 💡

Before continuing towards Clanwilliam, we also want to take a moment to sincerely thank the French South African Institute of Technology (FSATI) for their valuable support, including support equipment and a financial contribution towards the TUT Solar Car project. 🙌

Every contribution helps make this journey possible — and every young person inspired along the way makes it even more meaningful.
